Many of you will have been following the Phil Galfond challenge. After dropping $900,000, Phil signalled today that he plans to take a break & re-assess whether to continue. And, as usual with Phil, he revealed his thought process.

Then, along came Luke Schwartz. Brutal.

    There's no way Phil was ever beating vv but I'd lump on Phil beating Luke Schwartz ainec.

    No way can a guy who has never studied a single hand, so he claims, beat Galfond.

    Ironically, Luke is being just as stupid challenging Phil as Phil was accepting the challenge against vv.

    Is it known who VV is? I assumed his identity was unknown.

    The only person in existence who, apparently, knows who vv is is runchuks a plo coach. That's about as much info as is out there, at least that I've seen. That raises flags galore in the current climate.

    The reason Phil had no chance against vv, whether vv uses a dream machine or not, is that vv is the top of the food chain give or take very little. Phil barely plays ever and has hardly done so since solvers were even invented. He's been trying to run a business and start a family.

    Call it ego or delusion - he never stood a chance.

    Ahh, that makes more sense. I've been following it quite closely & was intrigued to know who it (or they...) are.

    Enter Shaun Deeb in reply to Luke......

    "Love you luke but I’ll be taking action on @gordoMG whenever you guys want to xbook in Bobby’s"

    To which Luke responds;

    "Stick to tourneys 5chins or you'd be putting that treasured money in badly for once"

    Could not help but laugh at "5 chins".....

    I dunno. I mean Deeb even said 'love you Luke' seemingly genuine and then Luke calls him 5 chins lol. It's a low blow but Luke Schwartz would say it to his face as well so you've got to give him props for that.

    That and the fact that he is half as good as he thinks he is.
    Which makes him an excellent player ;)
