I was going to vote Stars just for the H ell of it, but this is serious thread, so as I don't do serious just offer observation ........ Why do people shop in Aldi ( because it's unique ) and not Tesco, if Tesco bought out Aldi and it became Tesco would they stay or look for another Aldi ....... no other Aldi out there so customers disperse too other stores. Tesco rather than keeping the uniqueness and gaining all Aldi customers will lose most if not all. fwiw
1) The forum and the level of player chat is one of the main reasons why this platform is successful in retaining players. (To get to know people via the game chat, then meet up at SPT events is really great.)
2) UK only?...to enter a tournament where there is 100's not 1000's means even for the amateur fun players like myself, there's a possibility of running deep in a reasonable playing time. If like me you play for fun(and not as a living )...4/5 hours an evening is as much as you want with work the next day....the bigger it gets, the less likely 1 or 2 will stay in place
I am just one player but it's almost a guaranteed certainty that should SkyPoker morph into a much larger entity and lose 1) above and subject to whether 2) happens as well..I'm outa here....I play to chat, banter and every now and then win a little and if I win an SPT seat, meet up 3-5 times a year, that will do for me
If not then I'm gone!- Pity as the number of really nice people you meet and play with will be 'lost in translation' and that's what makes Skypoker work
I agree with what madprof AKA Danny has said esp concerning the fun side I'm no longer a prolific player but I do like the SPT sats and the meet ups at them .. for me as with some others its just about the fun and not a income I have always said for me there are far easier ways for me to make a living than poker (mainly because I no I'm not willing to put the time or attitude into the game) I play for a bit of fun .. I drink while playing and I only play with what I I'm comfortable to lose (which is a fair bit since 2008) .. if sky can survive as is with a few tweak's I will be happy to continue playing otherwise I would just stop playing apart from local live games
