I see the 2020 Sky Poker Tour Las Vegas being promoted at the moment.
I am kind of baffled as to why the $1K event is a 4 table tournament with all the sky regs playing each other, instead of everyone playing a $1K NL bracelet event.
There are loads of $1k NLHE bracelet events that will be super soft and have large fields, with chunks up top. Anyone who is doing well on sky (either cash or comps) should have a big edge on the field. Obviously the 36 sky regs playing in the SPT event cannot have a net edge on the field, as the event is entirely populated w sky regs. The SPT just deliberately segregates all of us from the absurdly soft games full of random US rec. players.
If I told one of my live pro mates I flew to Vegas, over the WSOP, to play a SNG entirely populated with British online RB grinders they would think I was completely insane.
What am I missing guys?
All the best

As Groggy notes, Sky Poker took players to play the WSOP every year (8 times in all, & over 200 players in total) but WSOP cashes were far & few between.
This will now be the 3rd year in a row we've had our own private tourney at Venetian, & the players who went will testify how much fun they had.
Sky Poker is a recreational site, & lots of those who qualify have never even played live poker before, but they want the "Vegas experience".
There's nothing wrong with serious heads who want to just go there for WSOP poker, good luck to them, but there's also a place for those who want to just see Vegas, take an immediate family member or friend & just chill.
The atmo in our Private Tourney is incred, too.
There's nothing wrong with either approach, it boils down to whatever floats your boat.
Much better to distribute SKY cash amongst SKY Players too ........ just hope I can win a seat again , and try not to donate my chips to @FeelGroggy
GOOD LUCK .... I promise you won't regret going
