Forum Comp Day 3, WEDNESDAY. Sheff Weds v Man City @ 7.45pm, FA Cup 5th round

A poor betting market I'm afraid, but we don't really have much choice, so we'll stick to the plan.
City, of course, are a so-called super-team, & always an enjoyable watch even for neutrals, & they sit 2nd in the Prem.
Wednesday, meanwhile, symbolise Champo mid-table mediocrity. For them though, this IS their Cup Final. Under floodlights at Hillsborough, this could generate some special atmo, & maybe the Owls will huff & puff enough to keep City honest.
They played each other in the League Cup 5 or 6 years ago. Wednesday will be hoping it goes slightly better than it did on that occasion.
A reminder that we take the result at 90 minutes.

Sheffield Wednesday Manager Garry Monk. Cool looking guy with his retro cardigans & posh hair cut, but I'm not entirely sure he's honest, I just have a sense he's a wrong 'un, a bit of a Harry Redknapp or George Graham.

The Owls have won the FA Cup previously of course, the last time as recently as 1935. And no I can't remember seeing it.

Hillsborough, despite those dreadful memories we all have, remains a magnificent stadium, & deserves a better club.
Just a few hundred yards up the road is the iconic Napoleons Sheffield card room & dog track.
At one time, the Napoleon's owner Dave Allen ran the football club too, but the supporters never much liked him, although maybe that's no surprise;
"Allen was sometimes the basis of much criticism from Wednesday fans, who he referred to as "scum", "yobs" and "cretins", also labelling one female fan a "venomous ****" after she voiced her frustration at Allen as he sat in the directors box"
