Report Your Neighbour?

People are actually reporting their neighbours for going on 'two runs a day' during lockdown, police say

If there’s one thing that runs to the heart of British culture, it’s being a stickler for rules and “the small print”. Oh, and we love snitching too, apparently.
In news that seems surprising, but then immediately isn’t, a police force says it has had a surge in calls from people reporting their neighbours for "going out for a second run".
Government lockdown rules allow people to leave their homes to take one form of exercise a day. And Nick Adderley, from Northamptonshire Police, has told the BBC that during this overstretched and stressful time his force has received "dozens and dozens" of calls about people allegedly ignoring the order.
Police now have the powers to fine anyone found to be flouting the law. But, to be honest, aren’t there better uses of everyone’s time? Such as dispersing big groups and, you know, dealing with serious crimes?

It's a hard one this, part of me thinks nosey interfering neighbour another thinks why should some people observe the rules whilst others flout them. I've just got back from Tesco,at the entrance to the car park an attendant tells everyone to park leaving a space either side of the car. Most people obeyed the rule but others completely ignored the advice and parked as normal next to cars. Also only 1 person was allowed to do the shopping as advertised but again people thought that rule didn't apply to them,so a security guard was placed at the entrance to stop such people, who then got angry when told only 1 person to shop at a time.My view is that rules are there for a reason so EVERYONE should abide by them. The one thing this crisis has shown me is how much of a selfish society this country has become. The ' I'm Alright Jack ' society.

I wont be ringing the police but ill share this here.

A chap in my block of flats sells weed , has done for years. I dont smoke it and it doesnt offend me.

This week , he still has his customers turning up, tapping his window, popping in and leaving a few minutes later.

Where his customers came from or head off to is anyones guess.

Hes got a hacking cough too.

I stay in town with a beach that's 5 miles long , 3 adjoining golf courses and a massive beach park, The police and council have said they will be patroling the area to see if any cars are parking there and will take action, I stay in a scheme in the same town with roughly a 1000 houses in a very small area, since the lockdown it's became busier than Sauchiehall Street on a Saturday night, If I try to go out my front door there will be people jogging, walking, walking with their dogs. So by my daft logic would it not be better the drive to the beach area and go for walk there ? or am I barking up the wrong tree.

People staying close to their homes is helping containing spread of the virus.

If communities from further a field hit the beach the virus can spread further.

If we move , the virus moves.

We are trying to stop the spread.

The point is these people arn't close to their homes, these are the people who normally go to the beach park.

My mate reckons the army will get involved at some point if people continue to flout the law.

I must admit that got me smiling at the thought of a couple of A.P.C.'s chasing Colin the crackhead as he barrels around the estate on his sisters Pepper Pig bicycle desperately trying to score cos hes run out of gear.

Ah well that's lightened my mood.
