Who won what on UKOPS Day 4, Monday

Tikay10Tikay10 Member, Administrator, Moderator Posts: 172,012

Morning.

I suppose yesterday was dominated by the news that Boris Johnson has been moved to intensive care. Like him or not, Boris is a strong & fit man who exercises regularly & has the best possible day to day healthcare available to him. It's really strange & quite disturbing the wide variety of people that this virus seems to affect. His illness seems to have had a sobering effect on people across the UK, we are all now realising how awful this virus is.

For balance, yesterday's good news - perhaps - was that virus deaths in the UK showed a sharp drop for the 2nd day running. Variance, or have we passed the peak?

OK, on to the poker.

The UKOPS Main & Mini, as well as the 7pm opener, once again produced spectacular numbers, but away from those, numbers calmed down a little across the board. That's a good thing imo, as if we are all going to be locked up at home for another few months, we need to make our money last.

Overall, UKOPS guarantees last night amounted to £41,000, with Prize Pools coming in 50% higher at £61,680.

    UKOPS 20 £4,000 Bounty Hunter (£7,320)

4 or 5 cashes in March but no headline wins, but last night it all came good for bluecall07. He was not done yet though, as we shall see.

In the Big Boys UKOPS Challenge, Team Moan It In were in a £1,700 hole when play began last night but the score by destinycod paid off around £400 of that. All they need to do now is win a big one.

4th was Jacquelyn, with CCKeenan 6th.

    Would you believe it?

Yesterday it was hello darkness my old friend, now Team Moan It In have turned it round in spectacular fashion. A £400+ cash by destinycod & now £4,650 for miniman88 changes everything, & the bookies slashed Team M-I-I to 1/6 favourites to win the challenge.

2nd was ozzieowen, 3rd was Sky Poker veteran lyonsbob06, & I imagine miniman took some satisfaction from beating a player with the alias "hatearsena".

An odd double for CCKeenan who finished 6th in both this & the opener. Not sure if that's lucky or unlucky.

The last time RANGERSCHA appeared in these threads was in April 2018 when he ran 4th in a Mega Mini. Anyone remember them? £11 buy-in & a £20,000 guarantee, & the last one got almost 1,300 entries.

Cleis - I SO hope his real forename is John - won Midnight Express 3 times in just over a month last Autumn & popped up to take this one down last night.

Runner-up Rigster51 won Midnight Express last Thursday, whilst EVIL_BERT ran 3rd after a 4th & 5th in successive nights in late March.

The Alvez heater shows no signs of abating, another FT here.

    UKOPS 25 £3,000 Hyper Bounty Hunter (£4,100)

darius booked the win, with Lalalola - a Kinks fan maybe? - 2nd. I only learned today that Lola, famously sung by the Kinks, was about a love affair between a "cis man" (a what?) & a trans women. Who'd have thought? I just thought it was a nice ditty, but it seems it's a bit deeper than that.

Well I'm not dumb but I can't understand

Oh my Lola la-la-la-la Lola la-la-la-la Lola

Great to see two season ticket holders in the Daily Forum Comp both cashed, Shelley7 in 3rd with the lactose intolerant MAXALLY in 5th. A brownie point goes to anyone who can figure out that lactose intolerant comment.

    £3,000 Bounty Hunter @ 7pm (£4,150)

Away from UKOPS now & Melty must love this one, he was 3rd the night before then 1st last night. Then again I suppose he loves all MTT's, as he seems to print in them. Sharky says that Melty is the most profitable Sky Poker MTT-er in 2020. No surprise there then.

Quite an across-the-card 7pm double for bluecall07, 3rd in this & winner of the 7pm UKOPS.

1,920 entries? Jeez. Is that a record for the Rewards Freeroll? Looks like moving it to 6.30pm worked well.

    Afternoon @Tikay10
I was wondering if there will be a mini UKOPS following on from the current one?
I know the players on lower bankrolls maybe thinking about this. If not, how about lowering a couple of the mini tournaments back to a £5.50 buy in? I know the guarantees are big, but they would still be covered and it would help those not quite so “ flush” to feel part of the current UKOPS festival. Just trying to be all inclusive during these difficult times.
Hope you are well and looking after yourself.

GL @-Stuey- in the high roller! He dabbles in the low stakes FTT Monday games so this will undoubtedly be a thrill.

    Hi Nick,

Some valid points there, though the existing UKOPS buy-ins can't be changed at this stage, they are cast in stone really.

Mini-UKOPS? No announcement either way has been made yet.

Great to have you back here mate.

Would be a great story if he could cash in that.
