However one person sprang to mind who I would love to meet in real life, partly just to check if they (and their mum) are ok, but mostly because they are the truly most inspirational forum contributor ever imho.
It would have to be lolooollo, the amount of chips he has taken off me he owes me a beer or two. Plus he seems an interesting sort.
Such a nice guy! I was surprised how old he was...I was also surprised he was let out of school on the Friday to play an SPT..I had the misfortune to have him behind me at my first live SPT tourney...I just didn't bet properly because I knew in all likelihood he would shove...
I also call him ' my nemesis' because like you, he seems to steal my chips regularly!
I had a nice surprise this afternoon. I noticed I had an unanswered message request on Facebook and it was Phanthom66 telling me about this thread. I am delighted to be remembered... and even more delighted to hear Tikay is still going strong. When I moved on to other things, he'd just had a heart attack. I really enjoyed writing the blog, it was cathartic to write to an audience who weren't connected to me in "real life". You were also appreciative of my ramblings. However, when I was elected to the board of Chester FC I felt I should be keeping a lower profile online. I haven't been sacked from the board - I am still there - although I haven't been able to deliver my goal of a raised viewing platform for wheelchair users because a few months after I got elected the club nearly went bust and rather than bring in money for the platform I found myself leading a team of volunteers who were fundraising just to keep the club going. They were a great bunch of people although it ran out of steam recently when the two most active members became pregnant! One of them is due to deliver twins tomorrow... How did that happen? Don't ask me... I also joined a second board - I am Trustee of a charity in Oswestry that provides a specialised form of physiotherapy to disabled children. They have the same condition as me. It's great to be involved in something like that, the results their physios achieve are amazing. They asked me to go to board meetings just once a quarter to provide advice to the CEO, didn't sound to onerous but then they lost NHS funding so over the last 12 months we have had to both fundraise and make parents aware of the services we offer so that children still come to us. Therefore I have had to get involved far more than every 3 months. I am still enjoying my driving - at least I was before the lockdown! At a service about a year ago they discovered a fault in the steering system. I had always said that the tiller was too light and, with all my involuntary spasm, it was really tough to keep still enough to drive in a straight line but they always told me I'd get used to it. Once they realised there was a fault and fixed it, the tiller had far more weight in its action. The van is now easier and relaxing to drive. I have hardly played much poker in past 2 and a half years. I still have £23 in my account so may play some cash if I ever get the time. I did have a good run lay betting football results last Autumn, was +£5k in 5 months but planning ahead to the summer I branched out into ATP Tennis and everything unravled. At least I had taken £1k out before heading down to zero. Must learn to stick at one thing and not over reach myself. Same thing happened in Poker, my good run ended when I tried to step up to the next level. Mum is still around. Still my primary (only) carer even though she turned 88 last month. An amazing woman!

It makes a change to read a nice genuine post.Good luck to you and your mum in whatever you do.
Yay, @QUICKFEET is back, just what we need on a day when the forum is a bit grouchy.
Big thank you to @Phantom66 who went & found our old friends, & kept me updates as to his progress.
Good to see you again QUICKFEET. Made me smile - but not in a nasty way - when you referred to your van's steering wheel as a "tiller".
Do you turn to starboard at traffic lights?
And yes, my heart attack was exactly 3 years & 1 month ago today. Physically, I'm in better nick than I have been for years, though I'm not sure about my mental state, I seem to forget things easily & get mixed up. I might always have been like that, but I can't remember.
It has less than 90 degrees of movement from lock to lock so the smallest movement takes you all over the place... that is why I need it quite heavily weighted
Being a bit of a lone wolf and single while not knowing anyone particularly in the community it would be having a drink myself giving the barmaid some crappy chat-up lines.
If going on online persona and interactions I would say Madprof would have some decent chat.
I'll take TommyD*, GreggHogg and the big German lad Ulrich up front.
Beanouts to keep things NIPPY into the early hours.
Tikay can round out this Sky Poker table of six to keep us abreast of the latest developments in trains, bridges and concrete during any lulls in conversation.
If what the Icelandic volcano says is true Roguecell is more than welcome to deal (and fill in for Tikay when he falls asleep).
*If he stops sucking out on me in the 5 quid DYMs.

I had no idea Tikay, really glad to hear you're back to your best, don't worry about your mental state. There's been no change there.

Various reasons but certainly 2 main ones.

Great photo, thanks @QUICKFEET
Steering - or tillering - with that must take some getting used to.
Really glad to know that you and your mum are well.

Hope that is taken in the way it was intended. If my read is right this line is not required.
