Think his best work was undoubtedly with Big Country. Skids were awesome but Jobson tended to dominate the band.
Saw them live supporting Generation X, and was pleasantly surprised at how decent they were live (many punk bands were awful live) and the sound they made.

I saw the Skids a couple of times, they were really good live, although Richard Jobson was up his ain erse.
Beat acoustics in the country at one time the Victoria Hall.
Capacity of less than 3,000 but saw the likes of Scorpions, Sabbath, Maiden, U.F.O, Saxon, Motorhead, Gillan, Ozzy, Magnum, Diamond head, Sham 69, King Crimson, Van Halen, Judas Priest and Girlschool to name but a few.
Also the gigs at Trentham Gardens Ballroom with a 1,500 capacity. AC/DC, Genesis, Police, The Jam, Generation X, Thin Lizzy and of course Oasis, Charlatons, Shed 7 and James.
Even the cowsheds of Bingley Hall saw Kiss, Boston, Blue Oyster Cult, Sabbath, Lizzy, Quo etc.
All that live music on the doorstep. It was a great time to be into it.
Now you gotta travel to Gunchester or Brum to see "Big Bands". In fact the last 3 gigs I've been to were in London, Manchester and Birmingham. Iron Maiden, Metallica and Pendulum respectively.

Its S.L.F, Skids, Pistols, Clash, Cockney Rejects and Sham69 right up til it morphs into Maiden, Metallica, Motorhead, Saxon and UFO.
After all nobody is going to come round and complain, my front door and my neighbours are less than 2M apart and the other side is empty.

The Late Great Stuart Adamson.
RIP

If you believe everyone who claims they were there, they would've needed Hampden Park to host it.
1 day festival. With not only Big Country, but Boyzone, The Dubliners, Shane McGowan, Beautiful South, Van Morrison et al. What a day.
Another year saw both my musical hero, Christy Moore, and Bob Dylan.
