Who won what, UKOPS Day 10, Sunday 12th April

Tikay10Tikay10 Member, Administrator, Moderator Posts: 172,012

Morning, & a happy Easter Monday to you.

Good grief, what a night we had last night. I must sound like a broken record banging on day after day about these astonishing prize pools, but last night there were broken records galore, record prize pools, record field sizes, record all sorts. UKOPS Guarantees amounted to £112,000, & prize pools came in 49.7% higher - can we call that 50%? - at £167,740. The Main had 639 entries, the Mini 1,239. Ridiculous. 2 of the first prizes exceeded £9,700, numbers never seen here before unless my memory has failed me again.

Despite the enormous traffic load, the software performed well too. There was a glitch in the Mini when Late Reg lasted 2 levels longer than it should, but that was not a software error as such, it was caused by the template being incorrect. On another thread this morning one player wrote;

"Furthermore, the increased site traffic means an increased workload for a Poker team that may be working remotely and/or have reduced numbers at present because of the pandemic."

Well there's been no mention of that previously, & Sky Poker certainly won't be using it as an excuse. But yes, the way the staff are currently working due to the virus-related problems has been disruptive beyond belief. Such are the crosses every single one of us are having to bear right now in these terrible times.

OK, let's look at who won what.

    UKOPS 58 £10,000 Bounty Hunter (£17,820)

    I'm not familiar with the winner who seems to have limited MTT history here, but I do know he gained entry via a £7.20 satellite & ended up walking away with about a tenner shy of £3,000. Lovely job.

    Runner-up MAKAKA has always been very profitable here, but this buy-in was considerably higher than normal for him, & the £1,370 he collected was near the top of his range. It was a nice 7pm double for him actually as he won the 7 at 7 for another £359.

    @iFlyDan 2970000 1 £2227.50 + £761.88 Head Prizes 19

    @Makaka 0 2 £1247.40 + £123.46 Head Prizes 6

    @tommy114 0 6 £396.50 + £169.56 Head Prizes 8

    Ben @Sunday8pm has received some well-deserved glowing mentions on the Forum recently, & he came up a spot short of the Final.

    @Sunday8pm 0 7 £307.39 + £56.07 Head Prizes 3

    In 8th was Angmar2626 who runs a splendid thread with the title "20k in 2020". Actually, that's not QUITE the title, but I'm sure you understand my reluctance to quite it correctly. It's a really cracking read, & if you have not seen it, here's a link to the last page where he & others are ruminating about this & that. It's

    UKOPS 59 £30,000 Super High Roller (£33,500)

    This hovered tantalisingly under the guarantee for ages, but eventually got there, with 59 uniques & 4 rebuys.

    A whole variety of leaders during the evening, & some fairly big names too, includes Messrs Brammer, Kane Channing & Rann.

    When the dust settled it was Burger with all the chips & a very tasty £9,715 on the side. I think we can safely speculate that's the biggest score he's ever had on Sky Poker. It might also have been the biggest score anyone has had here, but that record was not too last for very long, as we shall see.

    Runner-up yehnovice1 was having his best result since he won the Sunday Major almost exactly 2 years ago for over £4,000. That Sunday Major final 2 years back included f3nix35, GSmith13, TONY509 & Super_Oli. Nothing much changes, does it?

    @Burger306 670000 1 £9715

    @yehnovice1 0 2 £5695

    UKOPS 60 £50,000 MAIN EVENT (£78,200)

    Biggest ever Sky Poker prize pool & first prize? Probably.

    If asked to nominate the winner in advance, many would have selected railtard, he's fearless & once he gets a stack he's relentless too.

    Runner-up gazzaluf05 has played around 5,000 MTT's here in a 9 year period & always been profitable - but 25% of his total profit was earned by being 2nd in this last night.

    TEDSON & granite ran 3rd & 4th. Again, no surprise to see those two so prominently.

    @railtard11 7820000 1 £9384 + £1961.98 Head Prizes 13

    @gazzaluf05 0 2 £5122.10 + £914.20 Head Prizes 8

    Two very honourable mentions must go to James @LmfaoAllin & Guitar Bloke @Duesenberg both of whom got so close to a dream score. Well done lads. Duesenberg runs a wicked thread about his Twitch stream which you can see

    UKOPS 61 £10,000 Mega Mini B/Hunter (£19,740)

    This certainly was a "Mega" in every sense. 1,239 uniques & over £2,000 to the winner of the Mini. Strewth. Rather frustratingly, Sharky does not seem to be showing the result or any data at all from last night's Mini, though maybe it's just me & I need to adjust my filters. That's not a euphemism btw.

    Lee_Boy won Midnight Express in March, & was 6th in UKOPS 52 on Saturday, but this win was different league. Congrats Mr Boy.

    I hope I'm not getting confused - again - but I think the runner-up is Anna, & if so, that's a cracking score & my best wishes are sent.

    And what about Danyo0 in 4th? He started a thread last month as he wanted to improve his game. Seemed like he succeeded. Rather oddly, he won an MTT in January which also failed to register on Sharky, as he started a thread about it. He runs so bad on Sharky.

    UKOPS 62 £4,000 Bounty Hunter (£7,180)

    Anyone remember the Sky Poker "Podium Series"? Well back in October 2018 metapro won the Podium Series Bronze League, & now he's taken down a decent UKOPS.

    Many of you will remember CoxyLboro from back in the Sky Poker TV days, & was a member of the Swindon Crew which included lJAMESl. Plenty of fabulous stories involving Coxy in Vegas, but you know what they say about Vegas stories. When we were last in Manchester for an SPT I was much surprised to see him wander in & take a seat at a cash game, & be greeted by one & all who clearly knew him. We had a nice chat & he told me he lives up that way now. I can't recall exactly where, but I expect it's somewhere dreadful. I mean, it's up north, so it must be, right?

    UKOPS 64 £3,000 Hyper Bounty Hunter (£5,200)

    Good to see TEDSON representing Team SunRun bag this for the UKOPS Sidebet Teams Challenge.

    I lay awake in bed last night trying to figure out the alias of 6th placed skypokerfu could be. The song by Miley Cyrus? The initials of Francis Urguhart from House of Cards? Not really sure what else it could be. Any ideas?

    Short of time now, so mainly just results in the non-UKOPS stuff, but well done to Melty on his 27 zillionth Sky Poker win, to Ryan who had a win on Friday iirc, & to Stand Up Sit-Down in 5th.

    Toffeeandy explained on the forum a few days ago that he's furloughed & stuck at home, & his 4 year old daughter is after a swing & a new bike. £550+ should take care of that.

    Today's musical ending?

    I was never overly fond of this track, though I loved the group. Seems an appropriate song for last night though.
