Been lucky enough to visit a fair few places but have to say the most interesting has to be St Petersburg. Was lucky enough to spend a couple of days there last summer but could easily of spent a couple of weeks.
The Old Town in Dubrovnik was fantastic to visit, took my breath away 1st time I entered. I love Edinburgh and its History, so to say Dubrovnik put it in the Boys gate, sums it up for me.
Amazingly, I would have gone for St Petersburg too. It's unbelievable.
It has 30 palaces alone. I used to go to a casino in St Peterburg which was housed in a Palace, Taleon club. It was on the 1st floor, & this was the staircase;
I was staying about a mile away, & the casino sent a chauffeur driven Merc to collect me & take me back every night.
St P is full of wondrous places, none more so that Palace Square, which backs on to the Winter Palace & Hermitage Art Museum, behind which is the Nevsky River.
That sticky-up thing is called Alexander Column. It's a single piece of granite standing 50 metres tall (17 storeys of a modern building), was "erected" manually in 1834 & is free standing, as in its not secured to the ground, it's supported by its own weight.
For me, must be one of the true wonders of the world.

Lucky enough to go there a couple of years ago. Lovely place, but ridiculously busy.
Jordan. The picture above is the treasury at Petra, the most visited and (thanks to Indiana Jones and the last crusade) most recognisable tourist attraction in Jordan.
It was the capital of the Nabataean civilisation from around c2000BC and remained an important regional centre under Roman rule.
Jordan has much more to offer from a Red Sea (Aqaba) and numerous Dead Sea resorts, spectacular mountains and valleys and desert locations. Roman ruins, christian and muslim castles from the crusades.
Amman is a bustling city with a well preserved Roman ampitheatre in its centre and it even has a brewery in the outskirts.
Our reason for travelling there was deeply personal and I'll probably save that for a diary entry but I would encourage anyone who is a traveller and likes ancient history and different cultures to experience it whenever that may be possible.
Interesting is such a broad phrase that it's difficult to answer unless you have a standout choice. I've been to many 'interesting' places, some I'd return to tomorrow if I could (Singapore, Cairns, Isle of Skye, Stavanger, Iceland, Santorini, Sorrento, Istanbul, Berlin) whereas others I'm indifferent towards (Faroe Islands, Qatar, Ukraine, Bangkok)
But to answer the question, Bohol in the Philippines (and Philippines happens to be my favourite destination)
Dream place to relax after seeing the sights....
Of the many countries I still wish to visit, Jordan is certainly towards the top.
Most interesting place I've been to is Chichen Itza, took a full day tour (5am start) visiting the main site, some of the relief carvings have to be seen to be believed. Swiming in the Zazil underground Cenote after a Mayan priest ceremony to allow you entrance, a traditional Mayan lunch, then onto a real Mayan village, people so friendly.
This last photo is brochure version, it is a lot darker in reality to get good clear photos.

I’ve travelled a fair bit but they’re mostly where everyone goes
One that’s a bit different maybe is Durness in the Highlands
A fabulous place with white sands, Cape Wrath and Smoo Cave. Everyones surname is Mackay
There’s a great 9 hole golf course that i’ve played that has an honesty box for green fees
In the summer you can tee off at midnight and play

Been to some truly amazing places,
India to see the Tigers
South Africa ( Cricket & Kruger NP )
Greenland to see the Musk oxen
Polar Bears hunting on the ice at 80deg north above Svarlbard
but the most amazing expedition was to South Georgia & Antarctic Peninsular ( because it's so remote )
Cricket trips
Australia
Sri Lanka
New Zealand
West Indies
Used to go 2/3 times a year as The Wife and I had a timeshare in Malta
Just special now because its no longer there. A huge storm in the Med dislodged the supporting coloumn and millions of tons of rock crashed down.
No more Azure Window. I haven't been back since to see how this has affected the "inland sea" the other part of the attraction.
Don't they say "Never go back"?
Have to say though, St Petersburg looks stunning and very jealous looking at @zadoc pics too, South Africa is definitely on the bucket list.
