Who won what on Wednesday April 29th

Good morning.

It was good to see some debate on yesterday's thread as to probability & whatnot. I never know what interests who, & I'm certainly not angling for comments for the sake of comments as the thread is essentially a "read-only" affair, but it's also gratifying when comments are made. These things take an age to produce every day & it's close to the limit of my abilities to keep them fresh & readable. For 10 days from Saturday, with Mini UKOPS starting Friday, the job gets more difficult, with another 60 events that need reporting. So don't comment just for the sake of it, but please do raise anything with piques your interest or arches an eyebrow. I do hope all that makes more sense to you than it does to me...

So, last night. Numbers were broadly similar to last week, with the 9 events coming in a £40,570, 50.3% above guarantees. This is 4% higher than last week.

The interest (if there is any) in these numbers during the current boomlet really centres on how long it lasts, & what will numbers look like when sport & sports betting returns to our lives. I could write a short book on all that, but I fancy it would soon find it's way to the remaindering table. In short, numbers will drop back, but there will be some residue of the boom & I expect numbers to settle well below the current range, but significantly higher than pre-boom. That's just my personal view, I have no idea what the thinking of The Business is. I should add, there's no sign of a drop-off yet, numbers seem to have plateau'd.

OK, that's the end of what turned out to be a long & waffly preamble.

    Sicoe77 took the win. April has been a quiet month for him compared to March, when he managed an impressive 4 victories, & doing particularly well in Mid Ex.

    StayOrGo stole 2nd place from spanner after he tightened up, with Peewack23, (3rd in the 7 at 7 a week earlier) 4th & the man of the moment NooGooood 6th

    This was the best score for _Smoothe_ since he won Mini Hitman at the end of February.

    Runner-up ufud won Hitman Main back in February. It made £7,050 that night which the Cheeses would have been pleased with. Tonight they will be disappointed if it fails to make double that. Funny old game.

    The old codger himself was 3rd, which some might call an outlier. Rather like the chap who somehow won 23 £11 DYM's on the bounce (most of them Turbos) & many were thinking something was amiss. Poker will never lose it's ability to surprise & thank goodness for that.

    The winner is seriously profitable, & I'm pretty sure he's playing the Quickfeet HU Cup which StayOrGo has arranged.

    The only previous mention I can find for the winner was in Sunday's record-breaking Major, when he ran 10th & collected £400 from the eye-popping £30,700 prize pool.

    Palsace Bloke was 2nd & yet another cash for the deceptively aliased NooGooood.

    £1,500 Quickdraw (£1,850)

    gac123 & snoxx11 took the main honours, with Monty15, who won Sheriff an hour or so earlier, in 3rd.

    Here's a quirky stat - between winning the Sheriff, which began at 9pm, & running 3rd in the 10.30 Quickdraw, Monty played 19 satellites. Lord knows how folks keep track of such things, with new tables popping up all over the shop every few minutes.

    @gac123 185000 1 £370 + £222.73 Head Prizes 5

    @snoxx11 0 2 £231.25 + £68.26 Head Prizes 2

    Suitably but pleasantly embarrassed tbh. Wrong thread really.

    Good read as always. Sure many appreciate the effort you put in each day, just wish my very hot and cold poker ability ( usually cold) would let me feature in the write ups more than once in a blue moon. ☺
