Who won what on Saturday 2nd May, Mini UKOPS Day 2

Morning.

This thread is for last night's Mini UKOPS MTT's ONLY. The regular results round up can be seen HERE

I must sound like a broken record, banging on every day about these crazy numbers we are seeing. For balance though, pre boomlet, I never hid or fudged from bad or declining numbers. What you get are the facts, albeit clumsily delivered in waffle embossed wrapping paper.

Day 2 guarantees were £11,500, with prize pools coming in 83% higher at £21,005.

The first 3 events came in roughly as expected, but it was the last two that had the eyebrows arching - the £5,000 Mini UKOPS Turbo making £10,700, & the £2,000 Rebuy £4,548. Poker players like to lecture the poker sites on the importance of "value". Whether playing Turbos represents value is something I suspect we could debate for some time without ever concurring. Rebuys - especially as Sky Poker don't rake them - also seems to encourage "oh well, I call, I can always rebuy" attitude.

I hope we can all agree on one thing though - Poker players are weird.

£3,000 Mini UKOPS 06 BH £3,520

£500 Mini UKOPS 07 PLO8 £675

£1,000 Mini UKOPS 08 BH £1,562

£5,000 Mini UKOPS 09 Mega Stack Turbo £10,700

£2,000 Mini UKOPS 10 Rebuy BH £4,548

Meanwhile, I saw this posted on the Forum from a Mini UKOPS & it amused me somewhat. 4 flushing it with 2-4 off is about as eye-watering as it gets. Just imagine if this had happened to Mr PJ.

    £3,000 Mini UKOPS 06 BH (£3,520)

    Whilst on the subject of poker players being weird, I saw this thread title on the Forum yesterday;

    "how to avoid weak players"

    Which has nothing to do with Mini UKOPS of course, but I did admit to having a momentary chortle. Have you ever noticed how such threads are rarely capitalised? It's as if the concept of majuscules has somehow escaped them all their life.

    So, back to last night's Mini UKOPS.

    The winner here has a very limited MYY CV on Sky Poker, but knew enough to overcome the vastly experienced goldnballz.

    Notably, Shelley7 also finalled, so that's 2 of the UKOPS challenge boys up & running.

    An early contender for Mini UKOPS POTS emerged when SwansFC ran 6th, after winning that enormous UKOPS 04 Rebuy BH on Day 1.

    @BJPF 2112000 1 £422.40 + £105.47 Head Prizes 13

    @goldnballz 0 2 £230.56 + £45.92 Head Prizes 12

    £500 Mini UKOPS 07 PLO8 (£675)

    FeNdeR36 - a guitarist perhaps? - had his best win here during the Easter UKOPS when he won the UKOPS 22 Mini, & he followed up last night by taking the Mini UKOPS PLO8.

    In doing so, he denied victory to Enut, the well-known Sussex landowner who lives in a palatial Palace, though it's a shade more modest than nearby Hamilton Palace.*

    Perhaps the most remarkable result of the night (week?, year?) was dragon1964 making the Final. Poker has the ability to create the most remarkable situations.

    £1,000 Mini UKOPS 08 BH (£1,562)

    1793 began May by winning a 41 runner BH in the early hours of the 1st, & a day later followed up with this.

    bbMike, another of the Mini UKOPS Challenge crew, ran 6th to get some points on the Nozzer's super-spready.

    £5,000 Mini UKOPS 09 Mega Stack Turbo (£10,700)

    Hard to believe this made almost £11,000. Good grief.

    ribeiro66 enjoyed his best ever result, fending off the very profitable alfarch30, who finsalled Thursday's £3,000 Turbo BH.

    Cpfc777 - not to be confused with Palace Bloke - took this, ahead of jo90mark.

    SzaryPolak has made a few finals recently after which I just about managed to resist uploading yet another photo of the amazing Miss Brill. Not today though, I can't resist.

    Well I have to admit I've learnt a new word today, I shall try to include it in my daily life.

    As for Van Hoogstraten you'll have to go a long way from Sussex and especially Brighton to find anyone that doesn't have anything other than utter contempt for the man. Amazing that just by transferring ownership of assets to your children you can avoid any debt, obligations or even the POCA it seems.

    Well played Paul, navigating the field of folk who normally play 08 and those that don’t took some doing 😊

    As far as I recall, it was a right palaver getting paid, the boss had to jump through hoops to get the final payment.

    I heard of a scaffolding company that was owed a lot of money by him. It's amazing that scaffold poles are so good at holding up buildings yet can also be used to release money from wallets (allegedly).

    Hi @FeNdeR36

    Ha, I've been correct before, though it's a rare beast indeed.

    We have several guitarists here, though the one that first springs to mind - like you, the clue is in the alias - is @Duesenberg

    Good to see you here, hope you stick around, & well done last night.

    Very true, multi-purpose.

    PS - think it's scaffold tubes rather than poles, but might be wrong.
