    Sorry Bong, as per my last comment on PJ's thread:

    Tbf 34s is premium junk and folding 3 to a straight flush pre is definitely not GTO.

    I practice what I preach ;-)

    & as I said in the chat, I sold my soul in return for the power of spawn in 5 quid DYMs, so take solace in the fact that you never need to dance with the devil in the pale moonlight.

    Unlucky Silver, but you were only 95% to win on the flop.

    Mum's still the one to beat on the gem thread with a whopping 97%.

    This was my second hand in the tournament.

    Odds of KKK on the flop 40/3x39/2x38/1 = 9877/1?

    And then for a player to be holding the other K!!??

    Also in a previous tournament I was dealt 2, 3 three times in a row. Think the algorithm needs tweaking slightly?

    "Think the algorithm needs tweaking slightly?"

    Well there is no algorithm, just the RNG, & Sky Poker would be in a whole world of trouble if they ever started "tweaking" it.

    These hands & run-outs happen, they just do.

    "Odds of KKK on the flop 40/3x39/2x38/1 = 9877/1?"

    I'm not a mathematician, but those odds don't look right to me. The odds of the door card being a King are surely not 40/1?
  • SilverdallSilverdall Member Posts: 15
    @Tikay10 not entirely sure but if 12 cards have already been dealt and one was a king then there are 3 kings left in the remaining 40 cards, then 2 kings in 39 and 1 king in the balance of 38. So those multiplied come to the figure I quoted.

    I was fairly confident to go all in as I thought the chances of opponent having a king were very slim.

    @Silverdall

    I think in that spot most of us would think it safe to make that move, & over say, a sample size of 1,000 I'm sure it would be +ev. Just unlucky he actually had it. We've all been caught in those spots, & I know when I do it I feel a bit of a fool. But mostly it gets through.

    As to those odds, you may be right, but surely the chances of the door card being a King are (roughly) 3 in 40, not 1 in 40?

    @Silverdall @Tikay10

    The odds are 425/1 of three of the same card hitting the flop

    so not as rare as you think

    And so naturally, the 1.5% equity runner runner suck out.

    The worst of tonight's bad beats. But there were many, many others, mostly of a single digit equity river flavour.
