Techie help required. Creating One Youtube video from multiple files

Hi guys, I want to collate a load of videos files together to create one Youtube clip.

It's for friend's 50th birthday.

So I am getting "my friend's friends" to send me their videos, the question I have is:

Can I load them up to run consecutively on one Youtube link or does it need to be a separate Youtube link for each file?

I'd imagine there is a way to do it, but I am not sure how.

Can it be done for free, or is an upgrade required?

Any help from you techies out there would be much appreciated.

I know next to nothing about video editing but I do know that if you upload them separately and put them all into a Youtube playlist, they will then play consecutively. Most likely the easiest way to do it without loading up fancy, not-free video editing software.

I use iMovie to cut and edit movies and audio etc (actually my son does it for me in half the time I take :-) ) we then add any text and extra music etc.
All this is done prior to uploading to you tube

ps. you need to set up a channel if you don't have one, then tick the 'unlisted' box from the drop down menu (private and public are the other two options) then send your friend the link (copy and paste from top bar) to enable him to see it.
