Who won what, Sunday 31st May. Lots of nonsense & waffle today.

Morning, I can barely believe June is here. Our nasty friend Victor Virus has stolen Spring this year & suddenly it's Summer. It's slowly dawning on us all that life will probably never be the same again, & that's certainly the case for for wrinklies & Senior Citizens, to whom my thoughts go out to.

So, onto last night, & as we all know, Victor has actually been good for poker, we've seen numbers way beyond anything ever seen previously on Sky Poker, in fact April was the busiest month ever here. The froth is subsiding now, but even so, the current numbers would have been unthinkable 3 months ago.

Having said all that, last night followed the recent trend, with 8 of the 9 headline MTT's down w-o-w, the exception being Sheriff, which earns itself a House Point for bucking the trend.

    £3,000 Bounty Hunter (£3,600)

Melty failed to win a single MTT on Saturday but bounced back to form last night by taking down the opener. That means that since Thursday he has booked two wins (this & Sheriff), plus 2nd, 3rd, 5th & 6th places, which collectively tot up to over £4,000, & that excludes 8th in last night's Sunday Major for £566. I'm starting to get the impression it's not all luck.

MattBates failed to FT Bubble again, that honour going instead to Mattsmum. More mats there than Carpetright.

It's been a goodly while since Jimbo1970 figured in these threads & I fancy this might just be a PB for him. It was only his 4th MTT in 3 weeks too.

2nd was tommy114, whilst boggo rolled into 3rd.

Incidentally, if the alias "boggo" rings a bell it's because he won a Vegas Package with Sky Poker in 2017, & in fact ran deep into Day 3 before his 5-5 failed to hold against A-Q. A really smashing fella, a real gent, he was an airline Pilot, can't quite recall which airline but it might have been Cathay Pacific. Top top bloke. (Pictured below).

    £20,000 Sunday Major (£23,600)

Three cashes in the month for M10Dembele & no surprise this was the best. The others were tidy enough though, winning Hitman Main on the 14th for £2,400 then 5th in Gold Rush Main on the 26th for £600. Add in last night's £6,254 & that's not a mile short of 10 bigs. Very nice too.

Spare a thought for runner-up GFKIJKLL, 5th in the Sunday Major a week ago & now 2nd. Don't know if you'd call that lucky or unlucky, but any time we run 2nd in an MTT it always stings a bit, & especially so in a big one, or so I'm told.

Lightning almost struck twice, as HAYSIE, the man nobody wants to sit next to, & who won this a few weeks ago, was 8th.

6th was mkgunner, adding £1,133 to the £1,000 Golden Ticket he binked on Friday.

Honourable Mention goes to @Kahuna96 in 29th, he was leading the inaugural Micro Masters last time I looked. With an ABI of around £7 this was a big step up in class but he more than held his own. Earlier in the evening he also ran 2nd of 239 in the 7 @ 7. He's had a fabulous May, & seems a decent sort. Well done him.

    £4,000 Mini Major (£4,180)

For a while last night I thought this might miss guarantee,. but it eventually stumbled across the line.

A remarkable performance by Champ1999 to win a Mini for the 2nd time in 5 nights & 3rd time in 3 months. What a boss.

ItsOver4U, earning his spurs as a poker coach to several players at the moment was 2nd.

    £2,000 Mega Stack B/Hunter (£2,940)

Joelrice83, who I suspect is new to Sky Poker MTT's, took this down.

In 4th was donking741, "donking" clearly being a term unique to poker, but when I first saw it I was insta-reminded of Don King the boxing promoter, but the connection is probably as he has a website called donking.com Truly.

Boxing must be unique, it's the only sport I can think of where the Promoter somehow manages to be in every photo at the presser & after the fight. Always. Why do they do that? Don King, Frank Warren - I'd not trust either of them an inch - & Eddie Hearn all do it. Eddie's a bit sharp too, but I actually like him very much. I know Eddie quite well, & also Barry, though slightly less so.

I was in the Las Vegas Airport Immigration Hall queue a few years back & Eddie & Barry were in the queue behind me. They were going to Vegas for a big Darts Tournament, & Barry said "hi Tony, fancy a ticket for the Darts Final?" I was made up, how nice & thoughtful of Barry to be so generous. "Ooh, yes please Barry" I said, perhaps a mite too quickly. "No problem, give me $450 & I'll sort you a nice seat". Err.....

And as I have gone fearfully off-topic here, I'll add a little teaser for you which will really set you thinking. There's a player in the Micro Masters Challenge who beat Barry Hearn in his own Poker Tournament on a yacht in Monte Carlo a few years ago. How about that for a titillating tease? And don't bother asking who it is, one's lips have to be firmly sealed I'm afraid. True story bro.

    £3,000 Sheriff Bounty Hunter (£4,250)

What a month ffbuwliens has had, this as his 12th headline cash & 3rd win. In fact it was his 2nd Sheriff win in 10 days, & he also won Quickdraw earlier in the month.

Proper tough Final it was too, with Palace Bloke 2nd, Bubbler Bates 3rd, gaming123 4th & mccg899 5th.

Well done to chapperman too, 6th here to add to 2nd in Mega Stack 2 nights earlier.
