It just gets better & better, as today we visit the flat racing HQ & of course that means real grass not that dreadful AW stuff.
Two nice handicaps in prospect, too, as follows;
17.20 - 6f, 11 runners, Good to Firm, draw advantage HIGH
17.55 - 7f, 12 runners, Good to Firm, draw advantage HIGH
Newmarket has 2 courses, the Rowley Mile & the July Course, & with the clue in those titles, today's meet is on the former. In this photo & with the aid of telephoto lens, we can clearly see "the dip" which is at the distance just as the race starts to reach the sharp end.

As we are at Newmarket, let's turn back the years & treat ourselves to this spine-tingling race, it's not often we see a horse absolutely destroy a high class Classic field like this.

5.55 DEEP INTRIGUE
His in-running price plummeting as soon as the market went in-play. I remember seeing 1.03 very early (at what I estimated to be the half-way stage, possibly earlier), something I couldn't understand.
When I returned home, I watched the recording of the race. I now understood.
Oh, and we lost 0-2.
