Forum Comp Day 7, SUNDAY. Watford v Southampton @ 4.30pm

We plan to do horse racing next week (suitable races & meetings permitting), so today ends our week of football.
The obvious match, & it looks a good one, would be Newcastle v Man City, but with the visitors at 1/5, that's not really ideal for Day 7, especially as our League is so close.
So instead we head to unfashionable Vicarage Road, to see if Watford can grab 3 points which would lift them clear of that congested bunch at the danger end of the table. It's a well-balanced betting market, so is just the job.
Watford v Southampton @ 4.30pm
It's not so long ago that Vicarage Road had a greyhound track, it was low-level BAGS stuff but I never missed a meet there for many years. The track was dreadfully tight & the racing was as bent as it gets, but it was huge fun, especially as Traps 1 & 6 both had a huge bias in their favour, though we never knew which it would be until the first race. If the stripey dog won the 1st, it was 4-5-6 forecasts all the way.

Ralph Hasenhüttl manages Southampton, & he's quite an interesting & gifted character. I dislike him though as his name is so hard to spell correctly. That ü thing is called a glyph I believe, & is pronounced "y".

Danny Ings is having his best ever season. He's been around 12 years or more, & had good times at Burnley before being sold to Liverpool. He might have been celebrating a Premier League trophy had he still been there, but he never really cut it, & I bet they were pleased to offload him to Southampton for £20 million. A natural goal-scorer, & one to keep an eye on.

It's almost impossible to imagine Watford without Troy Deeney. He cost them £250,000 back in 2010 which must be one of the great bargains of all time. He had a spell in prison after being found guilty of affray, and he takes a bit of managing, but my oh my this boy gives his all every single game. He's 31 now so won't be around much longer in the top flight, so enjoy his energy & enthusiasm whilst you can.
