The Oaks is not an ideal betting market, and it's a little earlier in the day than we prefer, but I think we have to do the Oaks - Derby double. To the best of my recollection, they have never been run on the same day before.
The going is forecast to be Good, Good to Soft in places.
3.40pm - The Oaks, Gp 1, 1m 4f, 8 runners
4.55pm - The Derby, Gp 1, 1m 4f, 16 runners
We talked about Aiden O'Brien, who is represented by half of the Derby runners, a few days ago, so instead it's time to hail this wonderful trainer - John Gosden. Here's the great man, & yes, that's Andrew Lloyd Webber in the background, owner of many great horses including the Gosden trained Too Darn Hot.
