On Sunday's thread I asked if you preferred horse racing or football. The vote narrowly went to the horses, so that's the decision for this week. I'm happy to do either, so if you want to see football back next week, let me know please. And yes, if there's a decent football match this week with a well-balanced market, we can mix & match if need be.
We start the week with 2 modest but competitive affairs, one up at Thirsk, & the other at Windsor's traditional Monday night meet.
16.55 Thirsk - 5f, 10 runners, Good to Soft
17.15 Windsor - 5f Handicap, 9 runners, Good
Saturday's Derby was one of the strangest ever, as the winner had clearly slipped the field a long way from home, and it was a big disappointment for Oisin Murphy, who rides the likely jolly in our Windsor race. He was very honest after the Derby though, & it seems clear his horse did not get the trip.

In the Thirsk race, Joey Haynes rides Independence Day, trained by his life partner Chelsea Banham, who also happens to be the youngest holder of a trainers licence in England.
Chelsea's stables in Newmarket are owned & bankrolled by her Dad, Gary, who received an indefinite ban from horse racing many years ago which was eventually rescinded. He seems to be a proper wrong 'un, & let's hope it's not like father, like daughter.
The two cards;
16.55 Thirsk
17.15 Windsor
This is the angelic-looking Callum Shepherd, who rides Spoof in our Windsor race. He was involved in that rather unpleasant urine swapping case at Kempton Park a few years ago, though he was the innocent party, so to speak. Innocent in that his urine was clean & he was just trying to help Graham Gibbons, who knew his sample was going to prove "dirty".
As I mentioned the Derby at the top of the thread, this was the moment at Epsom on Saturday when everyone suddenly realised the leader was not coming back to his field. I was cheering him on, I thought it was awesome, but to be fair I had no financial interest in the race.
Spoof (Callum Shepherd) @ 100/30
