It seems odd to be watching NH racing in early July, but that's how things are these days, & we have a real treat today - a brace of NH Handicap Chases. Of all the various formats of horse racing, nothing beats a Handicap Chase for me, and the fact they are at a semi-gaff track detracts nothing, places like Newton Abbott, Plumpton, Fontwell & so on are quintessentially English & I adore them.
Both races have 9 runners, the perfect field size, and a really open betting market.
The going is Good, Good to Firm in places.
16.50 Newton Abbott - 2m 5f Handicap Chase, 9 runners.
17.20 Newton Abbott - 2m 5f Handicap Chase, 8 runners.
How about this for a spectacular image? You need to be well brave to be a NH jock.

17.20 Newton Abbott
Danny Sansom will be in action, too.
Newton Abbott is a lovely little track, & sits right alongside the River Teign, after which Teignmouth is named. In the summer it's usually packed with holidaymakers, though of course that won't be the case this year.

Thank you.

In my element tomorrow! NH racing, which I like much more than flat...even though we’re 3-4 months off the proper stuff! My local track Ponte for some flat action too...shame we still can’t go otherwise I think I’d have been there tomorrow!
Nice pic of Dan Samson there...a yard I follow with interest...if anyone’s interested give their page a like on Facebook...Seamus Mullins Racing...very informative...it’s a mate of mine who runs the page...given plenty of good winners out!
Cheers!
