Reminds me of many years ago when I met the other half's sister's new boyfriend one Christmas, he was a scouse with a very broad accent, on hearing his accent I said 'what are you doing down on the south coast, shouldn't you be out nicking cars?' A poor attempt at humour really that went down like a lead balloon.

Later I found out that he'd been inside......for nicking cars! Oops.
