Hand from Marksman 27-07-20

Hi All,

I am not usually one for posting hand histories however thought this was an interesting hand from the Marksman on Monday night. The £33 bounty hunters are not my usual MTTs I usually just stick to the £5.50 buys in and at this stage in the tourney was starting to feel out my depth.

The raise Pre flop is standard and I am aware better players will call a min raise from the BB with a very wide range and look for an opportunity to take the pot away at a later stage.

The flop is a good flop for my hand and when it is checked to me I bet just over 1/3 pot because I think I am still ahead at this stage and happy to take the pot here. When I get called I think I am still ahead. In my opinion I could be against a smaller Ace, flush draw or possibly even some 10 x.

When the diamond hits the turn I was surprised when my opponent bet out I was expecting to get checked to. At this point I admit I am not sure at all if I am still ahead or behind. Is my hand still too strong to fold? If I move all in IMO I am only getting called by hands that crush me. I decided to call and TBH not sure why I called because I do not think my opponent has a weaker Ace at this stage and I am no longer beating much other than maybe K10 with the K of diamonds. I was surprised by the lead out would a hand like K10 with the K of diamonds not check and hope to see the river?

When the 10 hits the river and my opponent goes all in I snap folded because I am not beating any hand at this stage.

Not sure it relevant but we are in the money at this stage and I think my bounty was about £28 which was not a big bounty for this stage of the tournament.

I would appreciate any thoughts anyone has on the hand and any tips to at what stage it went wrong for me.

Be gentle :)

From the very little I know about opponent they are very good and noted as aggressive.

    This is a tough one.

How have you viewed opponent on the lead up to this hand as this is quite opponent dependant. Vs some it's a call, vs most I find a river fold.

@destinycod, @miniman88 and @SenorBegs on your table, ouch.

On that runout i can't help but feel it's a good fold.

Played perfectly fine imo, if anything, 1-2k more on the flop. Turn and river do certainly hit bb's range harder, and I wouldn't put it past the sicko to abuse that, but I think you laid down the worst hand, wp.

I am sure I have seen Senor Begs mentioned on the forum before. If I have the right player Senor Begs played under a different name on a site I was a regular on before it closed. He was actually a PRO there (If I have the right player). He owned me back then also lol

Yeah pretty good table draw for someone who does not play those MTTs regularly NOT

My previous comment was due to not seeing the suits of the cards earlier. I can't see the river being a bluff or worse than your hand. :)
