    GLOAT ALERT.

Had Bayern on asian handicap from -1.5 all the way up to -4.0. I tried to get higher but nowhere was offering it that would take any money on it.

Looking forward to dissecting City vs Bayern if City get past Lyon, which they should. I think Bayern will beat City tho, and well.

Bayern have been very impressive this season. They have a seemingly settled squad and there was talk of Messi being unsettled at Barca. That may have played a part.

According to the BBC comments from the pundits the Barca defence were woeful in the 1st half.

German teams can be very efficient and are machine like. Even in the 7 - 1 win over the Brazilians a few years back Neuer was raging at letting in one. Winners.

Hard to see anyone stop them winning the CL.

Ye people can say Barcelona are a big team all they want but when you look at that back 4 you can see how they get undone so easy. Busquets has lost a lot as well. Tough to call anyone in that team world class at the moment, apart from Messi and maybe Suarez. Not much young talent to speak of. Ansu Fati is looking 'ok'. Their recruitment has been shocking and that's saying a lot considering they're supposedly the club every player would sign for. They're regressing and I'm starting to think they only ever succeeded at all because of Messi, Xavi and Iniesta.

Presumably the Manager will be getting sacked in the morning?

First thoughts as to who might replace him?

Whoever you and I think might be a good manager would either not take the job, or not get a look in. Barcelona, is mismanaged from the top. A bit like Catalonia the place. Conservatist values and not doing what's right within the bigger picture. It's so cut throat and data driven now that these traditional values don't get you far. They have La Masia, a legendary youth setup, yet they produce next to nothing even tho they get some of the best under 16s through their doors.

I can't see any manager, who has a brain, getting involved with it right now.

I just checked the presidents Wikipedia right now after you got me thinking. The first line has been changed to Josep Maria Bartomeu Floreta[1] (born 6 February 1963) is a Spanish clown and the current president of FC Barcelona.

He's been done for fraud etc etc.

    https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Josep_Maria_Bartomeu

Edit: he's being investigated for fraud. Innocent till guilty.

But aside from all that drivel, I like the Atlanta manager and also Graham Potter. Be quite the story if Graham Potter took Barcelona back to the top.

Odds slashed on Pocchetino to get the job. He'd shake things up on the pitch a bit I reckon. They still need better players tho.

Pocchetino seems a sensible choice assuming the manager is out of there. He's out of work and done very well with Tottenham.

Was reading an article that the current manager was 4th choice as well. Not a good start!

Always thought it was strange that a club does not insert a clause in a loan contract that they cannot play vs their parent club as well.

Must be about the worst time to be a Barca fan at the moment. Where do they go from here?

Multiple reports this morning that Setien has been sacked, but none of them have any real substance, it just seems to be rumours.

More a case of when rather than if, though.

    @kapowblamz

Do you think Blue Bucket Bloke will be considered?

Pep says Bielsa is the best, and Messi wants him to get the job. Surely he wouldn't leave Leeds atm?

I read that all the other players want Patrick Kluivert or Xavi, who so far have only managed Curacao and Al-Sadd respectively.

    Koeman was mentioned also.

Talk of player power in there, the tail wagging the dog perhaps. Not a happy camp you would think.

If i HAD to bet on it, I'd go Xavi.

I heard on the radio (wireless to you @Tikay10 ) this afternoon that the president and the rest of the board are up for re-election next year.
The favourite to replace him will appoint Xavi.
So who do they appoint for one year and who would accept the position knowing they have one season to be successful, when the squad needs a rebuild.

Sounds like the perfect gig for Rafa Benitez.

Watched the extended highlights earlier. That was hard viewing even as a neutral. A club like Barcelona with all the history being reduced to that.

Played a game of count the defenders on the Robert L goal (the 6th I think) and no-one got near the crosser and Robert L had an easy head a few yards out with 3 defenders within 5 yards. Coutinho's 1st wasn't even a good goal. Heavy touch and still the defence didn't get the ball to safety. Awful!

The worst part was a couple of the players looked like they have thrown in the towel. That is as bad as it gets. The manner of the defeat was maybe worse the scoreline.

They have been in decline for a few years. What a big job the next manager has to get things going again and with the relection of the board which was mentioned above that can't come soon enough.

    Brave decision, if so.
