Who Is In Charge?
I find it strange that our Criminal Justice System would allow criminals to choose whether they turn up at court for a sentencing hearing, and therefore avoid the victim impact statements, and facing the people they have wronged.
I am sure that the close relatives of the victims have looked forward to looking this man in the eye, and explaining how his actions have impacted their lives.
Only to be disappointed at the last minute.
