Who won what, Sunday 23rd August

Good morning.

A strangely anti-climatic day of sport yesterday. The Women's Golf went to Miss Popov, who earned some $675,000, whilst over in the USA, it was Dusty Bin Johnson who won the Northern Trust affair by 11 strokes, ending a ridiculous 30 under par, for which he received a cheque for $1,700,000. If ever there was a case for parity between male & female prize money it's surely golf. Decent day for England in the Test, though it was amusing to see James Anderson seething after there were three dropped catches off his bowling in one over. I've no idea what happened in the CL Final, though I assume the Germans won. First time I've missed a CL Final in many a year, but I just lost interest somehow. The Indy500 was won by Takuma Sato, it was his 2nd victory in the showpiece. There were some seriously scary crashes, & it ended under the Safety Car after the daddy of all prangs. Thankfully, nobody was seriously hurt. Best sport of the day by far was the Moto GP, more on which later.

Back to last night's poker action, & poor old GGPoker had another disastrous night with software "issues". These things should not happen, but poker players are not exactly the most understanding when things go awry, so Twitter was well lit with angry pokerists.

Here at Sky Poker, it followed the pattern of the last few nights, with the big stuff doing OK but a few overlays at the smaller buy in levels. Pride of place on the Naughty Step for the 2nd time in the last few days was Mega Stack which dropped £220. Not a fortune, I agree, but for a £1,500 affair, that's too much.

£8,000 BH £8,550

£15,000 Sunday Major £16,300

£2,500 Mini Major £2,500

£1,500 Mega £1,500

£2,500 Sheriff £2,500

£2,000 Turbo £2,280

£1,500 Quickdraw £1,550

£1,500 Mid Ex £1,560

    £8,000 Bounty Hunter (£8,550)

Exactly a week earlier, dunkinfish finished 6th in this and did not play another MTT until last night, when he won it. Most efficient.

What a FT he had to beat, too, with ItsOver4U, Melty, Morris707, luckme002 & daleboss all vying for the glory.

    £15,000 Sunday Major (£16,300)

The biggest prize of the week, & almost certainly a PB, went to jamis1981. I can't find a single Forum mention of this player, so that's a nice debut.

Terrific score for Sky Poker veteran NIHIGHGUN. He won Avenger at the end of July for £2,300, & was 2nd in Sheriff a week later for £400, then picked up another £2,600 last night.

5th was chrisdonkb - remember him? He used to be really good.

    £2,500 Mini Major (£2,500)

Exactly 6 years ago bar4004 won the Sky Poker Jackpot, then a week later won the Super Roller. Last night he took down the Mini Major. Like riding a bike, you never forget. Well done Bar person.

The trend of players posting on the forum for the first time & then cashing continued, with @Shrimpy28 finishing 3rd. The conspiracy theorists will be taking note. Well done mate.

Morris707, 4th in the £8,000 opener, was 7th, but he was not finished yet, as we shall, see.

Oh my, Morris707 v Groggs Heads Up would have been a great watch, they know each other pretty well & can both play a bit. Proper nits, both of them, obv, but smashing lads, a credit to poker.

At the top of the thread I mentioned Moto GP. It's a terrific sport to watch, miles better than F1.

This spectacular crash occurred a week ago. Those guys are seriously brave. And Rossi was seriously lucky, that flying bike - more like a missile - missed him by inches.

Cheers @Tikay10 although any conspiracy theories would be put to bed with my brutal exit hand in the megastack leaving me just short of final tabling that too!

NOTHING stops conspiracy theorists, hard facts don't bother them, they are like a dog with a bone. Just go on to Twitter & read all the stuff about wearing masks, it's somewhere between comical & tragic.

    @chrisdonkb

Thought that might rev you up.

Save the win for the Online SPT mate, that'd be a nice one to boss.
