Who won what, Sunday 30th August

Tikay10Tikay10 Member, Administrator, Moderator Posts: 171,974

Morning.

It's a Bank Holiday, but it does not feel like it, & given our current circumstances, it makes no sense to me. Lockdown & WFH seems to have changed the basic structure of the working week & now every day feels almost the same.

Meanwhile, in London over the weekend, there was a march by anti-mask demonstators - none of whom were wearing a mask, obv - protesting at the possible "second wave" & the lockdown that would accompany it. Work that out if you can.

Back at Sky Poker, a so-so night, only Sheriff missed and that was by a nugatory sum.

Oddly, after the worst night for the SPT Online Semi on Saturday - 17 runners - last night was the best night, coming in at 34, which was exactly double Saturday's count. Go figure.

£8,000 BH £8,310

£15,000 Sunday Major £15,800

£2,500 Mini Major £2,830

£1,000 Mega £1,450

£2,500 Sheriff £2,500

£2,000 Turbo £2,100

£1,500 Quickdraw £1,950

£1,500 Mid Ex £1,800

    £8,000 Bounty Hunter (£8,310)

    Tonyzya effectively won back to back MTT's on the same day, as he ended Saturday's session by winning Midnight Express & begun Sunday evening by taking down the £8,000 BH. Much improved form & one to note, as Timeform might say.

    @Mody 0 2 £666.05 + £270.97 Head Prizes 13

    cabbaz took this. He has some good UKOPS results on his resume, & a bunch of wins this year, including three Sheriff wins in March alone.

    2nd was BadGrandma, who was at the SPT Grand Final late last year.

    Sky Poker stalwarts StayOrGo & Solack were 3rd & 4th, with the super aggro AKA Scotty 6th.

    It seems AKASCotty got in via a Freeroll too, as I saw this on his Twitter feed;

    £2,500 Sheriff Bounty Hunter (£2,500)

    Sheriff went the way of everton301, getting his first Forum reference in almost 5 years.

    Talking of Everton, BBC TV aired a documentary about Liverpool FC last night. It was the best part of 2 hours long, but even if you are not a Liverpool fan, it was excellent viewing & football fans should give it a watch.

    Can you remember what you were doing on this day 23 years ago? Bet you can if I show this headline.

    image

    It was a monster news story, one of the biggest ever, but it included some pretty weird stuff too. Conspiracy theorists, a particular bugbear of mine, are not a new thing.

    All I remember of the start of the day, switching the radio and TV was sombre music and didn't know why!

    We were supposed to go to Skegness. My mate's mum woke us up at 5:30 am, told us to get up immediately to watch the news, and that she wasn't taking us there anymore.

    I was driving to work at Tapton Park Golf Club in Chesterfield at 6.30am, and wondered why the really sombre music was being played on the radio ........ I presumed the Queen Mother had died as she was nearing 100. At least she lived another 5 years, must be down to the joys of G+T and Horse Racing ;)

    Really SAD though the day Diana died :'(<3o:)

    I was a spotty 16 year old on my way to Arborfield for my first day in the Army. It was supposed to be an exciting time for all of the new recruits but instead the whole atmosphere was overshadowed by her death. She was one of the few Royals to be liked by all.

    I was away working in Sheffield. I’d fallen asleep in the hotel room on the Saturday night with the tele on, watching Sky Sports, and was very confused when I woke up with banners running across the screen telling me to turn to Sky News. I woke up in a hurry when I turned over to see the news!

    Newcastle were suppose to play Liverpool on Sunday but it was cancelled due to Diana's death.
