Daniel Prude was left brain dead after the incident and later died on March 30 when he was taken off of life support - seven days after the encounter
The medical examiner ruled his death a homicide, on account of complications caused from asphyxia from physical restraint, as well as PCP intoxication
The incident occurred on March 23 – weeks before George Floyd died, sparking nationwide protests – but Prude’s death received no public attention
However, that changed on Wednesday when his family held a news conference to reveal disturbing police body camera footage of Prude’s final moments
Protesters gathered Wednesday outside Rochester's Public Safety Building, which also serves as its police headquarters
Demonstrators remained as night fell, demanding for the officers involved to be charged with murder
Three activists were arrested inside the Public Safety building on Wednesday afternoon
One person was reportedly taken to a hospital for treatment of injuries received during the arrest
Rochester Police said a total of nine people were arrested during the entire day, most for criminal trespass or resisting arrest, and one for inciting a riot

This is very sad and yes very disturbing video to view thanks for the warning. Sometimes we can be desensitised to these situations however this one again caught me.

This video raises a few questions.

Was the force used excessive and was this standard practice at the time?

Where were his family and/or friends to speak to the police if his mental state was not good. According to the article his brother made the call.

Did the right people come out to this situation?

Paraphrasing a bit here. "The story was very different from the one I was told". She was apparently told it was a drug overdose and was made aware of this at the start of August.

This took place around April time.

Yeah the original incident was on 30th March.

It is hard to understand why the police dealt with him in the way they did.

If you could laugh at this man, you shouldnt be a police officer.

Another tragic case.

They just seem to stumble from one to the next.
