Who won what, Monday 14th September

Morning.

Some of the Main & Mini guarantees have been reduced from yesterday, including Marksman Main, which was formerly £8,000 & is now £6,000. It made £6,090, which begs the age-old question, chicken or egg? We shall never truly know, of course.

Worth noting, perhaps, that the Main Event guarantees at present are mostly identical to what they were this time last year, in fact some are still higher than this time last year. Most players are completely understanding how things are with the notable exception Team Entitled, who are usually winning regs. I have to say, that Coaching thread blows my mind, but I've successfully managed to refrain from commenting thus far.

On we go.

£1,000 BH £1,000

£6,000 Marksman Main £6,090

£1,500 Marksman Mini £1,770

£1,000 Mega £1,360

£2,000 Sheriff £2,400

£1,500 Turbo £2,100

£1,000 Quickdraw £1,200

£1,000 Mid Ex £1,420

Roughly speaking, 50% of the volume by lundie is in Turbo DYM's, but 95% of his profit comes from MTT's, & he's been getting the lot here for some 9 years now.

I don't know a deal about fatboymuls, except that he ran 2nd in Gold Rush Mini last month, but what a fabulous alias he has.

In 5th was LiamRynn, fresh from winning Mid Ex earlier in the day, & 3rd in Hitman Main last week.

    @lundie 708000 1 £223.46 + £49.73 Head Prizes 6

What a hot final this was, with grinddd, who won last Saturday's Turbo, getting the nod.

It was so nearly a double on the night for The Bates who already had the £1k BH under his belt, with Main Event winner pacman 4th, Mega runner up scotty 5th, & in 6th Mickey83, who has won both summit & Hitman Main in the last few weeks.

Jac35, who won an MTT as recently as 2010, also finalled.

destinycod is one of the more realistic regs who does not have that dreadful sense of entitlement so many serious heads have so I'm always pleased to see him do well.

2 finals in the session for BrayCorp, 2nd in this & 6th in the £1k BH, with goldnballz nicking a few bob in 6th.

Yay, chrisdonkb took this. I tend to stick it in his eye rather more than I should but it's all bants, & he's a genuinely good lad, & not far behind miniman88 in ability.

Did anyone notice that Everton won over the weekend, beating Spurs away? Who'd have thought?

Which neatly brings us to Everton fan Toffeeandy.

There were two fiver Bounty Hunters half an hour apart last night - 10.15pm & 10.45pm, with 99 & 85 runners respectively, & he won them both. Goodness me, that's a rare double & he'll be chuffed to bits with that, & so he should.

    Well done mate.

On this day in 1859, Isambard Kingdom Brunel died at the age of 53. I truly believe he was the greatest Englishman ever.

If I were to try to list his achievements we'd be here all day. Suffice to say his work still exists today, nearly 200 years on, working as well as ever, & he has made the lives of every one of us better in one way or another. That can be very few people in this country who have not been on, over, through or under something that Brunel designed & built. Trains, boats, bridges, viaducts, tunnels, portable hospitals, you name it he did it. An extraordinary man.

Cracking name too - fancy having "Kingdom" as one's middle name.

Thanks @Tikay10, not sure what was more surprising, Everton winning away at a "top 6" team or me winning these 2 tournies back to back, will let others be the judge of that.

Nice to have a wee run of luck at the tables, will enjoy it while it lasts, and also nice to see Everton appear to have made some good signings and have a midfield this season; I'm certainly a lot more optimistic than I have been in recent years. :)
