Morning Afternoon.
It's Friday again, where did the weeek go?
I doubt this will interest too many of you, but yesterday was the busiest day on the Forum (measured by Posts & Views) for a very long time. Forum activity increased during the boomlet in line with poker traffic - naturally I suppose - but has declined gracefully since then. It's still way above where it was at the start of the year though. Why does Forum activity levels matter? Well the current plan is that when Sky Poker eventually gets the long awaited makeover, the Forum will remain part of the site. Very few sites have Forums these days, for all sorts of reasons, but it has to be a benefit both to Site & it's players. Much of yesterday's extra activity was based around various aspects of the "don't teach the recreationals" debate, so it will subside quite soon, but maybe some other controversy will surface. I'm not keen on conflict all the time, but friction = heat, & many people thrive on it, so bring it on.
I spend a lot of time wondering how we can increase Forum activity. Maybe seed it with more general news from the world of poker away from Sky? If you have suggestions, I'm all ears.
Traffic last night? Much better than Wednesday, but I think Thursday is usually a better day for traffic. Don't ask me why, as I don't know.

£1,000 Bounty Hunter (£1,140)
RUTSTER must love this one, he's won it three times in 3 weeks, including twice in 3 nights end of August.
Runner-up Annemily has not featured in these threads since running 3rd in Sharpshooter Mini in June.
In 5th was SQUIDGER, who gets a namecheck because he won this one last month, but more importantly because he has such a delicious alias.

ValueJL does not put much MTT volume in but it's all high buy in stuff & he does very well. His last two notable cashes were 7th & 5th respectively in Sunday Major & BWBH. We should not put too much weight on Sharky ratings, but they have him at 94, which is extremely high, I can't think of more than a handful of Sky Poker players who Sharky rate at 90 or above. He plays a lot of £200 Heads Up Hypers, which is pretty scary stuff to people like me who think twice before spending a tenner.
The--Don, who is doing a bit of a challenge thing, had a good run & collected a very handy £170.

This was a bit of a Team Serious benefit, with Lord Crush doing the business ahead of BrayCorp, with Morris707 4th & mushroom 6th.
The enigma that is The--Don had a good night, 15th in the Main for decent money, & 3rd in Mega, & let's not forget he won Mega two nights earlier.

An excellent session for the shark that is Sharki0, 3rd in the Main, 1st in this, & 4th in Quickdraw for a combined £1,200 or so. Earlier I mentioned that ValueJL was one of the few Sky Poker players with a 90+ rating on Sharky, & as it happens, Sharki0 has an identical 94 rating. I'm in awe of these guys that have honed their skills so well. Once again though I urge caution in how you interpret Sharky ratings, they contain all sorts of statistical oddities. Pretty sure though that if your rating is 90+ you are handy enough.

It never rains - fishhhhh was winning Turbo for the 2nd time in 4 nights, & he's yet another with a 90 rating on Sharky. I'm beginning to wish I'd never mentioned it now. He's a good guy too, & like players such as Melty, The Bates & many others, he's made some good contributions on Hand Analysis threads.

£1,000 Quickdraw (£1,100)
cabbaz is really getting the lot at the moment. He won Quickdraw just 24 hours after winning the Main & running 3rd in Sheriff, and it's only a few weeks since he won the Sunday Major for 4 balloons. It was a super hot FT too, with Crushy, Monty, Mean Machine & Climwinner all in close attendance.
In 7th was Duesenberg, but sadly it was all in vain as he earned zilch except bragging rights. I gather there were fun & games on his stream last night, so I'm itching to hear what went off. I should mention that he kindly invited me to be a Guest on his stream, as "at least 1 person but less than 2" had suggested me. I was more than flattered, but whether I can overcome the technical challenges of stuff like Skype & Twitch is another matter. And most of my repertoire would be "ahh the good old days" reminiscing. It's a bit like visiting your Grandad & listening to his tales. You have to be polite & nod approvingly, but really you can't wait to go home. "Oh, & did I ever tell you about the time..."

Bawbaggio is a bit of a Midnight Express standing dish, he's won it several times & been placed on plenty of occasions too. Maybe he does not have to get up in the morning.

Someone mentioned the forum/community dying if people had different opinions. I think the opposite is probably true.
For an entry into the Sunday main event every week, I'm happy to rip all of my new filters off and go back to being a total bellend for clicks.
@gpc70
Summit is Tuesday.
Correct.
I quite like the new Don, sort of mini bellend.
