Hi
Been playing here awhile now and had 3 different pcs 3 different connections and 3 different OS's ....started on the poker client and it began to crash with server error a good few years back (maybe 7-8) , didnt really get much info or direction on what was going on but it appeared to be happening to lots of people, random server errors etc so decided to just play through the browser and this worked fine except i lose a lot of hands when being moved table or at the begin of a tournament which is extremely frustrating (it shows the timer counting down but no cards). Again with this issue, more people seemed to say this was happening to them also...and there was some talk of an update which never seemed to happen and nothing done about it.
Anyway most recently im back using the client and it just shuts on its own nearly every break, no problems with internet and other poker sites operating fine, id just like to know whats going on, if the site is getting brought up to date any time soon or waiting to being sold to someone else to deal with that, seems crazy long overdue.
Thanks

Does anyone know why the client crashes every break?
Suggests it's every break.
The body of text suggests it's less.
If it's really just crashing in the beak it's probably a good thing.
Are you browsing the web during breaks, or running some sort of sims or the like? Or do you usually get up and walk about?
@steveysee
Apologies for not replying last night, but it was late (early morning actually) & I was a little tired.
I'm greatly surprised to hear you are suffering these problems every break. There are certain limitations & foibles to the current software as we all know, but I'm pretty certain that crashes every hour during MTT breaks is highly unusual & not widespread. I'll certainly pass it on to the techies, but I suspect they will say it's an outlier. Minor issues with the software can & are still being rectified, but essentially the software is no longer amenable to major changes.
The site (Sky Poker) most certainly will not be sold any time soon, in fact I doubt it will ever be sold, although of course the Parent Company has changed several times in the last 5 years or so & could do so again, but I think that's highly doubtful. It was these Corporate changes which caused delays to updating the software.
There is now a firm roadmap - eek, I loathe that term -for how Sky Poker transitions to a better, more robust & reliable platform, though I can't predict timescales. Until then, Sky Poker will continue broadly as is.
He’s possibly googling ‘most stupid comments to abuse other players with at a poker table’ during breaks
I've already been asked off-Forum to explain this.
Broadly speaking, since 2013/214, Sky Poker's corporate history went like this. It was always a part of SB&G (Sky Betting & Gaming), or at least from around 2001.
Pre 2013 - SB&G was owned by Sky TV. (They had a variety of names).
Around 2013/14 SB&G was sold to CVC.
In 2018 SB&G was sold by CVC to TSG. (aka Pokerstars).
In 2019/20 TSG (aka PokerStars) was sold to Flutter (aka Paddy Power/Betfair).
And so each time the parent company changed hands, the (wait for it) roadmap changed. I don't foresee any further corporate ownership changes which will affect Sky Poker, though I should add I certainly never foresaw either the 'Stars or Flutter deals coming.
So, hopefully we are now in more predictable times & updated software is very much part of the plan.
All of which gives me the excuse to upload one of my favourite pieces of music - Duff McCagan (GNR, Loaded etc) with a medley which ends with Patience.
