Personally don't think so, he may be the best FI driver ever but sportsman no, I think the car plays too big a part. My top 5 would be Andy Murray Mo Farah Seb Coe Daley Thompson A P McCoy.

Secondly? For me, he is not British. It is not about the colour of your skin, or where you were born. Mo Farah is British through and through.
Lewis Hamilton has NEVER paid income tax as a British citizen. In his career, it is believed that he has earned over £500 million just in income. And paid UK tax on less than £1 million of that. Thereby shortchanging the UK of the thick end of £200 million. Quite apart from the myriad of tax avoidance on other UK taxes-take his plane purchase as just 1 example. The only time he is British is when he drapes himself in the Union Jack, before going back to Monaco.
