    I don't see why someone should be deemed "stupid" for wanting to remove the word "Empire" from our Honours system.

    Many people find the word offensive. As an example, the "Empire Games" changed its name to the "Commonwealth Games" because people found the term offensive. In 1970.

    And no amount of pretending otherwise by the awful Daily Mail will change that.

    Similar. Misleading headline, followed by giving voice to Conservatives who appear not to understand the point.

    This isn't a campaign to change the Honours system. Just for "OBE" to mean "Order of British Excellence". Because "Excellence" is what the award is for. Not "Empire".
