Who won what, 31st December (New Year's Eve)

Tikay10Tikay10 Member, Administrator, Moderator Posts: 171,935

A very good morning to you all on the first day of 2021.

This is the final results thread reporting on 2020, tomorrow we'll start 2021, & I intend to make a few small changes to how we do it.

For now, it's an odd New Years Eve when a £6,000 Main makes just shy of £10,000. Later in the evening, when everyone was busy getting ready for midnight, things slowed down, with Turbo & Quickdraw both missing by a few entries, but we were back up to speed after Midnight with Midex covering handsomely.

£1,000 BH £1,160

£6,000 Hitman £9,930

£2,000 Mini Hitman £2,355

£1,000 Mega £1,720

£2,000 Sheriff £2,400

£1,500 Turbo £1,500

£1,500 Quickdraw £1,500

£1,000 Mid Ex £1,500

    £1,000 Bounty Hunter (£1,160)

    Very few mentions of the winner in 2020, though he did grab 4th in the same MTT at the very start of December.

    Runner-up Jamieb23 had a good 2020 until around 7 weeks ago, when a rather mean looking downswing set in. Hopefully the tide has turned now.

    Nick Harris is an offensive linesman with the Cleveland Browns. Might not be the NickHarris who finished 3rd though. Just a hunch.

    @jrdrinkler 174000 1 £214.60 + £116.84 Head Prizes 5

    @Jamieb23 0 2 £127.60 + £74.07 Head Prizes 6

    @NickHarris 0 3 £87 + £49.69 Head Prizes 5

    @cullum 0 5 £46.40 + £17.34 Head Prizes 2

    £6,000 Hitman Bounty Hunter (£9,930)

    Powely94, playing his first MTT for a week, left it late to get his name in lights - his only previous mention in 2020 was runner-up in Turbo on April 30th. To be fair, he's only played 276 games here, ~85% of which were DYM's.

    A big shoutout to runner-up Scragster, who did it the hard way. He entered a £1.60 satellite mid afternoon, got through that, which gave him entry to a £7.20 satellite at 6pm, which won him entry to the Hitman Main. A few hours later he emerged with £903. £1.60 to £903 is a pretty neat ROI, nice work Scraggy.

    in 4th was HAYSIE, about whom I've been properly rude all year. I'd just like to say that I meant every word. It was only recently that I learned he was married. If Lewis Hamilton deserves a Sir-ness, Mrs Haysie surely deserves a Dameness.

    £2,000 Mini Hitman (£2,355)

    Quite a nice story here. RichMoz played a whole bunch of All-In sats to the main without any luck, so switched his focus to the Mini & won it.

    Runner up Dynasty was playing his first MTT for 8 months, in fact he's only played 7 MTT's here lifetime.

    Quick well done to AMD68 (5th) who seems to do OK in fiver affairs & is looking to up his game in 2021. Pretty sure he can & will.

    Nice to see brucie in 6th, to see him nice.

    £1,000 Mega Stack B/Hunter (£1,720)

    Welcome back hazey64, who last appeared in one of these threads in 2018.

    For a Mega, it looks a tough FT with most of the finalists nicely profitable. The only possible exception is Arrogant, who is "hidden" on Sharky, but I think we can safely assume he's at least breakeven.

    £2,000 Sheriff Bounty Hunter (£2,400)

    None of these need any introduction, with memfno booking the win.

    Makaka, Nitrogen, PICKLE22 & RCord have all been doing well of late, especially Nitrogen, who picked up close to £5,000 in winning UKOPS 15 two nights earlier.

    FALMER ran 6th but made a small loss. Still, 48 hours earlier he binked UKOPS 19 which enabled me to assail you with a whole litany of East Sussex trivia, which I'm quite sure you all found thoroughly fascinating.

    @RCord 0 5 £108 0

    £1,500 Turbo Bounty Hunter (£1,500)

    Sharky gives us no clues for nslater112 (not to be confused with nslater12) but he's made 4 FT's in the last 8 days - 5th & 6th in Mega & 4th in Quicky, & now he ends the month & year with a nice win.

    In 2nd was rachaelaxe. Back at the end of March they collected a monster ~£3,000 in winning Hitman Main. If we want a reminder of what a topsy turvy year it's been for Online Poker, that Hitman was at the start of the Boomlet & made a whopping £19,320, almost double last night's prize pool. What a year it's been, one way & another.

    3rd was Froozle, & it looks like the fortunes of mushroom are changing, he was 4th here but could not buy a result a few weeks ago.

    @rachealaxe 0 2 £171.60 + £98.54 Head Prizes 5

    £1,500 Quickdraw (£1,500)

    Chicagoan finished the year well with a handful of final tables, culminating with a nice visit to the top step of the podium here.

    Safe to say mnolan8317 has had a decent year here. 24 hours earlier he took down UKOPS 20 for ~£1,764, & 3 weeks ago he took Summit for some £2,000. Best of all he won a Sunday Major in July for £5,500.

    Lmfaoallin is a terrific lad who we usually see at SPT's, & I was delighted to see him in the frame. He had a very good May, winning boomlet boosted Mega & MidEx just 5 days apart, but he's been off the boil since.

    @Chicagoan 160000 1 £336 + £185.03 Head Prizes 6

    @mnolan8317 0 2 £210 + £139.10 Head Prizes 8

    @LmfaoAllin 0 3 £126 + £48.52 Head Prizes 2

    @Tinnazzz67 0 4 £92.40 + £66.56 Head Prizes 4

    @annette 0 5 £75.60 + £59.07 Head Prizes 3

    £1,000 Midnight Express B/Hunter (£1,500)

    This marked the last MTT of 2020 - well actually, the first MTT of 2021 - & it went the way of YOKERFACE who scrambled home from diaboliqe8.

    And thereby hangs a story, as Toffeeandy (3rd) flopped the absolute nuts v diaboliqe - the nut flush no less - only for diaboliqe to hit runner runner quads on turn & river. In music there are Up Beats, Down Beats, Stressed Beats & Non-Stressed Beats, but they certainly don't have Beats like that.

    @YOKERFACE 225000 1 £217.50 + £89 Head Prizes 3

    @diaboliqe8 0 2 £142.50 + £105.37 Head Prizes 7

    @Toffeeandy 0 3 £88.12 + £52.03 Head Prizes 4

    @Deano890 0 4 £71.25 + £41.26 Head Prizes 5

    @IamAll_En 0 5 £58.12 + £65.74 Head Prizes 6

    Finally, a quick look at the Top 10 in the 2020 Sky Poker MTT Sharky leaderboard. I must stress you have to take these with a pinch of salt as all sorts of variables come into play - volume, ROI, Rebuys (not always recorded by Sharky) & wind direction - but it's probably not a million miles out. Well done every one of them, especially Crushy. Believe it or not, @HAYSIE makes an appearance in 22nd place. Told you to take them with a pinch of salt.

    1 @loololollo $87,930
    2 @MattBates $76,956
    3 @chicknMelt $69,992
    4 @heddoh18 $60,347
    5 @railtard11 $47,249
    6 @peiratis88 $45,399
    7 @fishhhhh $44,394
    8 @Monty15 $38,279
    9 @GFKIJKLL $37,349
    10 @miniman88 $36,810

    To each of those, Sharky apply a rating, & again, you must take that with another pinch of salt. However, most are rated high eighties or low nineties, but 5th placed railtard has a whopping 97 rating. And no, I've no idea how they arrive at those ratings.
