Who won what, Monday 18th January.

Morning.

Solid if not spectacular traffic last night, typical Monday really.

Do we have any cricket fans here? India's performance kept me up most of the night, one of the best fifth days of a Test I've ever seen. The Aussies are easy to dislike because of their arrogance & sledging - yes, you Tim Paine - so it's always good to see them turned over, especially at home. They had not lost a Test at the Gabba for 32 years, & for India to win it they needed to break numerous records. Pujara, (a modern day Geoff Boycott) Pant & Gill were the stars, & if Tim Paine stopped running his mouth & instead watched Pant, he'd do himself & Australia a big favour. Paine's Captaincy & wicket-keeping was woeful too. So India took the four match series 2-1, despite missing most of their big names, including Kohli & Bumrah, who might just be the best batsman & bowler in the world right now imo. Be in no doubt, India are far & away the best Test team in the world, & by a very long way. Bet against them at your peril.

Today is also the last day of Trump's Presidency.

A good day all round.

PS - Player of the Day Update is at the foot of the thread today.

    7 at 7 Bounty Hunter (£1,288)

goldnballz had his best result (so far) of 2021 in winning 7 @ 7, & it's his second 7 @ 7 Final this year too. He's never going to be an MTT beast, but he just keeps plodding away & making a steady profit every year. Been here since 2011, & in those 9 years he's had exactly ONE downswing, the rest of his 33,000 game resume has been steady profit all the way. Decent sort, too.

In 4th was kahuna96, who has a wonderfully uppy-downy graph. Those who believe in chartism will suggest he is due a big upswing soon.

Exactly 2 weeks after winning Marksman Main, nishg took the £1,000 BH. He's won a Turbo this year too, so this was his 2021 hat trick.

Super-Oli was one spot short of winning this for the 2nd time this year. He already has two Turbos, a MidEx and a £1,000 BH on his 2021 win resume, so he's going along well again.

3rd was M10Dembele, who we will discuss later in the report.

Baboon26 was 4th. By my reckoning that's 7 Featured Finals in 2021 without a win. Once variance evens out he'll win plenty imo.

    @loosecamel was 68th of 71, one spot behind @NOSTRI

An unexpected winner here with hoewan grabbing the glory in what was probably the easiest heads up he'll ever have to win a Main. Apart from 3rd in an Xmas UKOPS, he has no previous results of this calibre.

In 2nd was cpfc_2010, who has a Mega & a Sheriff to his credit so far in 2021. Back in the day he might have won this, but at the Main Event level I fancy his game has gone, & he overfolds way too much. Needs to learn about blockers too. Blockers are the way forward. Oh yes.

    £2,000 Mini Marksman (£2,180)

A lengthy search for previous results of this calibre came up dry so I'm pretty sure this was a PB for bazzer786.

In 3rd was ozzieowen, coming up just short of a remarkable hat-trick of Mini wins in 2021. So far this year he's won Mini Major twice, Turbo & MidEx.

In 5th was peter27, in fact he was chippie for some time. Not sure I can recall a guy who tries as hard to improve as peter does. Poker does not come naturally to him but he's slowly getting there & is on a bit of an upswing now. There's a £5.50 BH that runs at 2245 every night, & he's won that twice already in 2021, & three times since November. Not sure if he ever decided to get some coaching, but a few lessons from Melty is probably all he needs.

    £1,500 Mega Stack B/Hunter (£1,700)

Mega went the way of StayOrGo.

In 6th was Uncle Ungo who disappointed me greatly. He made the final as chippie then went on a monumental spew, seemingly unable to fold. It's less than a week since he won the Main & here he was making a complete fool of himself. He took this spectacular implosion in what might now be called Trump style, blaming everyone & everything except himself. Shocking really.

Here's an impression of Uncle Ungo's mega Mega rant.

    £2,500 Sheriff Bounty Hunter (£2,900)

M10Dembele is the Sheriff Sheriff, winning it for the 2nd time this year, & he's also had a 2nd. Earlier in the evening he was 2nd in the £1k BH, & earlier still he took down the 6pm BH. He also won a Main just before Xmas.

In 5th was The Bates. Plays everything every night, but has managed just two wins this year, both in the Mega. For the last 7 straight years he's been in the Top 4 in the Sky Poker Sharky Profit leaderboard, but he's not even in the Top 20 this year. Sad to see.

    £2,000 Turbo Bounty Hunter (£2,010)

5 years or more since russthehus made a Results Thread, well done.

Baboon26 was 2nd, and as alluded to earlier, he seems to make a lot of FT's without actually standing atop the podium. Probs just variance.

    SPT Online Semi (21 entries)

I don't keep records of how many SPT Online seats players win, but at a guess, The Codfather must have won 5 or 6 already.

Irish Rose is at it now too, think this was her second.

    Meanwhile, MAXALLY just missed out.

Literally paid Melty for coaching a few hours before you posted this o:)
