    What those figures don't say is btw, most had serious underlying health conditions or where of an age where under normal circumstances you wouldn't.bat an eyelid if you'd learnt of their demise.

    Yep, it wasn't getting run over that killed him/her, it was the asymptomatic covid 27 days prior to the number 29 crushing them.

    Whereas the poor soul who spends 29 days in intensive care with Covid before sadly dying presumably does not count as dying of Covid under these statistics.

    I have been slated on other forums for saying this but i do sometimes wonder about the daily Covid UK death figure. When they say 'sadly 550 people in the UK have died today' where do they get that exact figure from? does every hospital and every care home phone in or email their death total on a daily basis?.
    No way am i saying there is not a virus about, just wondering how they collate the figures, nobody i ever ask seems to know.

    Every death has to be registered.

    They count the ones that have a positive covid test within 28 days of their death.
