SPT online freeroll

SMARTGOATSMARTGOAT Member Posts: 478
I just bubbled the SPT online freeroll, one of the two winners was @Karloco who has already won an entry to the SPT online event, does this player receive the cash alternative or does the ticket get awarded to 3rd? (fingers crossed). Many thanks.

Very unlucky. I think they get the cash, like the other SPT satellites. However, the software is now not indicating this info in the lobbies now. Basically, protecting all the sat for cash pros ;)

Best of luck in getting a seat though.

    That's a fair question.

    I would assume it's the same as the SPT Satellites, which would be;

    4. If a player wins a seat via satellites after they have already qualified they will receive the buy in amount of £220 in cash.

5.If a player wins a seat via a promotion after they have already qualified via satellite or other means they will receive the buy in of £220 in cash.

    I would deem a SPT Freeroll as a Promotion, which is covered by T & C # 5 above.

I will check with the office in the morning though.

I’d like to know peoples thoughts on this
As far as I’m aware freerolls and satellites are there for the « lesser player «  or the players with restricted rolls a chance to enter the bigger tournaments.
However it seems to me as it’s the same players who hoover up the seats for financial gain.
    Right or wrong???

Personally I think sky should look at this and have at least one set of tier satellites a week for those who have yet to win a seat

I was the bubble boy as well one day last week but don’t know whether the winners had already won a seat or not.

I don’t really care to be honest. It was a fair fight between all of those who qualified for the freeroll.

Good luck to them in the event.

The current format is fine if Skypoker want sharks to win duplicate tickets, but if the intention is to build the number of entrants to the SPT the current format needs a re-think. For example if entry to the semi-final was solely via a quarter-final sat. and that was solely via micro sat. (as I believe they are called) I wonder if the sharks would bother with that format and leave the minnows to battle among themselves.

Anything other than the current format may not be possible because the limitations of the software used.

What is Skypokers aim when running satellites @Tikay eg is it to have as many entrants to the SPT as possible?

The online giveaway is generating unique entrants, you can only win one ticket through this.

The satellites pay cash if you are already qualified.

People who have already qualified and then play more sats are generating more money towards the prize pool , more people dont hit than do.

If you take this away less people will play the sats = less prize monies generated.

    I think.

"more people dont hit than do"
It would be interesting to know how many tickets were won via Sats and how many were converted into cash prizes.
You're roght it could be that changing the format of the Sats would result in less entrants.
I suppose as long as there is no overlay Skypoker will be happy.
This is a perennial topic, I doubt it will ever go away. :)

Sat system is perfectly fine as it is.

It's only a couple of drips who constantly moan about sat for cash players.

I totally agree. The best way forward for the moaners is not to register for the sats such as the SPT. I mean look at my graph for sats, pouring my money down the drain.

For the most recent live SPTs players were restricted to winning more than 4 tickets, with the rationale that there were 2 Day 1s each with re-entry. Unused tickets could be carried forwards.

So Sky could restrict number of tickets a player can win, should they wish, but for whatever reason haven’t done so.

They have given away 50 tickets in a very generous random giveaway too, despite not having give one to me yet (yes please, fingers crossed, etc).
