My day today, followed by a helpful tip.
My wife’s car is clever, it told me the key I was using needed the battery changing, being a tight fisted Northerner I decided it was a simple job even I could do.
Step 1 , look up which battery I need.
Step 2 ask wife to purchase battery online. ( As discussed elsewhere I don’t do online transactions)
Step 3, Google “ How to change car key battery.
Ok, now it gets interesting.
Followed instructions, go out to car., key doesn’t work.
Google “ Key not working after changing battery.
Apparently you have to re-program the key...
Go out to car, open door the old fashioned way ( no, not with a brick)
Put key in ,click it once and press the lock button on key fob.
Key doesn’t work still, alarm goes off 😢
“Run” indoors to get wife’s key from the b......dy handbag which is like the tardis.
“Run” back to car turn alarm off.
Amble back indoors scratching head.
Have a think.
Wonder why there was a child drawing on the back of the battery.
Take key apart ....again.
Take battery out.
It’s not a drawing, it’s a “ Child Friendly” STICKER
WHO PUTS A BL...DY STICKER ON A BATTERY!.?
Take sticker off, put battery back in key.
Key works.....
