There is a Champions League game tonight, but we are going to swerve that & instead take in the League One affair between little Portsmouth & the once great Sunderland. Both teams have fallen on hard times and not so long ago it would be impossible to imagine Sunderland could drop so far.
There's not a lot between then in the League, with Sunderland 2 places & 5 points ahead, though Pompey have ground advantage, fwiw.

Here's Portsmouth's home ground, Fratton Park. The sign says "Champions" so presumably the 'photo was taken in 1897.
