Who won what, Wednesday 7th April

edited April 2021 in Poker Chat
Good morning.

After those low numbers on Tuesday, there was a slight pick-up last night, perhaps because the televised CL match was Chelsea & not Liverpool.

Excited that The Masters starts today. Remember this though. The TV commentators will eulogise endlessly, and the cameras will do that soft focus thing to a background of schmaltzy string music. None of which will obscure the fact that a former Chairman of Augusta National Golf Club famously said "As long as I'm alive, all the golfers will be white and all the caddies will be black" & indeed that remained the case until around 1982. And until 2012, the Club never had a single female member. You can't apply to be a Member, you get invited, but it just so happens that the Membership Committee don't invite women to become Members. The first female Member was the former USA politician, Condoleezza Rice in 2012. Great, great golf tournament, great great course, not so great with the inclusivity stuff. Let's never forget that.

On we jolly well go then.

    7 at 7 Bounty Hunter (£1,162)

Vaatrrik took 7 @ 7, & unusually, played a few PLO8 MTT's, & made the FT of one. Anyone who enjoys PLO8 is alright by me.

In 2nd was MARK277. He ran very deep in a £10,000 UKOPS on Monday, eventually finishing 5th for £700.

    £1,000 Bounty Hunter (£1,240)

The £1k Bounty Hunter went to Dooobs. All I can say is "about time too David". His form has at last started to turn for the better - 2nd in UKOPS 38 on Sunday, won this last night, & later in the evening, 5th in the Turbo. If you read this David, who are your fancies for The Masters?

Yet again, karlluke made the Final of this, for the 7,825th time this year. (May be a slight exaggeration).

    £6,000 Predator Bounty Hunter (£6,390)

This is a lovely story. As far as I can see, Starling17 has never won or even made the FT of a Featured MTT until last night, & has an ABI of about £4.50. It gets better though - he won his seat in a £1.20 "Frenzy" Satellite, and emerged several hours later clutching some £1,170. Isn't that just great? We just need a few more starlings to do well & we'll have our own little murmuration.

Spanky took time off from owning the DYM streets to finish 4th, & TheMadMonk, who I last saw in Las Vegas a few years ago, was 6th.

    £1,500 Mini Predator (£1,745)

The Mini fell to lwin666, the first time he has made these threads since November 2019.

By contrast, zzgoose is a frequent inhabitant of the Results Threads & has had a bunch of decent results.

In 5th was FeNdeR36, who later noted what a tough FT this was, and that he was proud to have outlasted Collabo.

    £1,500 Mega Stack B/Hunter (£1,500)

This is most odd. Adored has been treading water for 2 years, with zero notable results, but has suddenly sprung to life. In the last 3 nights, he's finished 1st, 5th & now 1st again in the 8.45 Mega Stack. Isn't that extraordinary?

It was not an easy FT either, they are all handy, especially The Bates (4th), Tuesday's summit winner M10Dembele (5th) & the excellent cabbaz (6th).

    £2,000 Sheriff Bounty Hunter (£2,500)

Another very tough Sheriff Final, with the in-form tonyp taking the win before running 3rd in Reload. He won Mega 4 nights earlier & has had a whole raft of FT's in the last fortnight, sending his Sharky graph sharply north.

Runner-up DESERTTURK is another who is on a roll, with the highlight being a Gold Rush Main victory a fortnight ago.

The Bates (3rd) had a productive sesh too, 3rd here, 4th in Mega, & he took down a £500 Turbo BH later in the evening.

    £1,500 Reload Rebuy B/Hunter (£1,641)

Played 1, won 1, that was the record of Andyman007 last night.

Similar applies to runner-up Onlyme249, this was his sole MTT of the evening. Every time I read his alias I have a mental image of Harry Enfield. I even read his name with the right emphasis, Only meeeeee.

    £1,500 Turbo Bounty Hunter (£1,500)

Excellent binkage by rob65, winning Turbo for the 2nd straight night.

2nd was the excellent roddy28, who took down a £750 BH that went off at 21.30.

Super_Oli, who won 7 @ 7 a few nights earlier, was 4th, & doobsy made his 2nd FT of the evening.

big_dam who was 2nd in this the previous night, ran 6th but got nothing for his troubles this time.

newdaddy has been quiet since winning UKOPS 16 a week ago, but bounced back with a nice win here, as well as a deep run into 8th in the Main.

    £1,000 Midnight Express B/Hunter (£1,140)

MidEx went to the technically excellent Mody. He then ran 3rd in a little BH that kicked off at 0230 this morning, & was back on site playing a £150 BH at 0830. There's a man who must love his poker.

Cheers Tikay, running good at last.

Masters tips, Justin Thomas at 11/1 and 8 or 9 places is a fantastic bet. win price is correct and place price is very good, as you know. Best be quick as the place terms will go.

The other was Scottie Scheffler at 50/1 but with great place terms.

As a vaccine sceptic once said of the mega stack "I want to be Adored".
