Morning.
Oh my, what a night that was.
The jury in the trial of Derek Chauvin reached their verdict - guilty on all three counts. Now we await his Appeal, sentencing, & the trial of the other three police officers. A great start though, & this was the verdict all decent thinking people surely wished for.
The proposed football Super League had a spectacular evening, as all the English clubs got cold feet & we were treated to a whole barrage of Twitter-based mea culpas from the clubs. Most think this was a victory for common sense, & in some ways it was, but in fact the way the Media & fans achieved their ends will cause more problems than it solved. MUCH more. Chase away the owners, castigate them for taking dividends from the clubs they OWN, & you have the makings of a very serious problem indeed. Fans & the media cannot ever run football.
And then, just as we thought we had seen enough drama for one evening, the news filtered through that Jim Steinman had passed away. Jim wrote all the Bat Out Of H ell music, & much much more. A dear friend of mine wrote this;
"All the stars must have aligned for him and Meatloaf to find each other when they did".
So it was not all good news last night, but I suppose two out of three ain't bad.
Meanwhile, & unsurprisingly, online poker traffic was subdued. Very little overlay, but even Reload failed to cover, & I don't ever recall that happening before.

7 at 7 Bounty Hunter (£959)
coolhanal, who complains endlessly about too many Bounty Hunters, won the 7 @ 7 Bounty Hunter. And less than 24 hours earlier, he was 3rd in Reload Bounty Hunter. Nobody moans it in better.

An astounding win by Crushy, who began the FT 5th or 6th but seemed to bust everyone on his way to the win.
Thoroughly deserved I'm sure, but a raucous rail had assembled ready to cheer big chippie NOSTRI to victory, but it just never panned out well for the fella & he ended up an anti-climactic 5th. I had been looking forward to giving him a hard time if he won, but I can't dig him out after a defeat like this. Let's never forget, he's the appointed assistant to MML founder @waller02 without whom MML would not exist.
There was an amusing hand that propelled NOSTRI to the chip lead, when he got it in real bad with K-Q v the A-Q of Doob's. Running Kings & running deuces gave NOSTRI a very unlikely full house. Really, with luck like that he should have gone on to win the thing, but I'm not going to kick a man when he is down, no no.

At last, The Bates wins something worthwhile, as he finishes 1st in the 464 runner Gold Rush Mini. Perhaps we should call him Mini Bates.
4th was heddoh, who had a terrific evening as we shall later see.
SnowyDegen had a lovely day too. Earlier, he won a little £50 Turbo BH, then ran 5th here for easily his best ever result.

£1,500 Mega Stack B/Hunter (£1,500)
heddoh18 has had any number of good nights on Sky Poker & added another last night - 4th in the Mini, then winning both Mega & Turbo. Mad skillz.
Main event winner Crushy was 4th, with Boxster and tonyp142 coming home 5th & 6th. Boxy had had a mini downswing, but I definitely sense he's on his way out of it now.
A little unfortunate to miss the Final Table was RogueCell in 7th. She just a few hundred MTT's shy of 20,000 on Sky Poker & has been here forever.

nishg continues to produce good results across a wide range of buy-ins, in the last 10 days he has won the £3 entry Reload, £20 entry Quickdraw & now £100 entry Summit. That's some range.
Very much dominated by the usual suspects, including Jessie, Sharkio, IamAll_En, HUGHMANS & chrisdonkb. Tough final, that.

With the untimely passing of Jim Steinman, we'll be looking at some of his work over the coming days.
Let's start with a real oddball - a collaboration between Meat Loaf & Cher, of all people. Steinman, of course, wrote it, & also co-produced it with Jimmy Iovine.
For crying out loud I can't believe you've got away with this without a comment all day:
So it was not all good news last night, but I suppose two out of three ain't bad.
Keep the punage going.
Dave
@kidgrimsby
True, Doobsy spotted it but you & he apart, I just about got away with it.
Hope you & Sue are both well.
