Revellers let their hair down in beer gardens across Britain on first bank holiday weekend since Covid rules relaxed (while others get creative with their brollies)Scores of revellers descended onto the streets of Leeds (left and bottom right) and Newcastle (top right) to hit the numerous bars and beer gardens and toast in the May Bank Holiday tonight. Party-goers appeared in hight spirits as they swapped a night in at home to celebrate with their friends into the small hours. The scenes come just weeks after coronavirus measures were eased on April 12 as part of the Government's roadmap out of lockdown. It also comes after Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab yesterday admitted that some rules on wearing face masks and social distancing could remain in place beyond June 21.
