Afternoon.

A very quiet day indeed at the MTT tables. Man U were on the telly, but whether that made much difference is hard to gauge.

SPT Online starts in 2 days time & suddenly the weather is glorious. Not ideal...

I always support British clubs in Europe & was hoping to see Manchester United do well last night. In fact the margin of defeat was imperceptible, having lost 11-10 on penalties. It could so easily have been a United win, when we are talking 22 penalties it's almost like tossing a coin. The real disappointment for me is that United were clearly the better team but they failed to play to their ability, & so the lesser team got the win. Fernandes, lauded all season, was invisible, though Cavani was excellent, & an inspiration to the whole team. They seem one player short of a good team imo - a dominant character, a modern-day Roy Keane. Ah well, at least in Saturday's CL Final, we are guaranteed an English team will lift the trophy.

    7 at 7 Bounty Hunter (£805)

    Pottski got the evening off to a decent start, taking down the 7 @ 7 which, incidentally, had the lowest turnout I've ever seen. Later in the evening he won an Online SPT seat - his third so far.

    In 2nd was Duesenberg, streaming on a Wednesday for the first time, he's usually a Monday man. And it was jolly nice of him to post this on the Forum;

    "super excited to see the different options available in the Sky schedule this evening"

    Hmm. Read into that what you will.

    Toffeeandy (3rd) enjoyed his best result for over a month. He seems to run bad generally - imagine having to carry through life the burden of being an Everton supporter, especially with the Reds just across Stanley Park enjoying so much success under His Highness Klopp.

    Monty15 took this for the 2nd time in 5 nights, & it was his 4th success this month, having already taken down Mega & Turbo. I really don't know too much about him, and his results are tough to search because he plays so many satellites. It's clear he is very handy though.

    A tough renewal considering it's "only" a £22 entry, and the other podium spots were occupied by heddoh & luckme.

    In 4th was MML architect & mastermind @waller02 who is more usually seen on a Friday. He certainly specialises in the Friday Avenger, & has won both versions - Main & Mini - in the last 6 weeks, largely thanks to the Zen-like state of mind he has.

    £6,000 Predator Bounty Hunter (£6,000)

    Very poor turnout for this last night, with eye-watering overlay.

    Claytov took the win. He's been here for almost exactly 10 years & has always been profitable. As far as I can tell, this was his best result for some time, though he did run 3rd in Sharpshooter Main 12 days ago.

    2nd was THETANK, who won Mega the previous evening.

    We can't keep Arrogant out of the frame at the moment, he was 5th here but much better was to come later in the session.

    Two finals in the evening for PBKR - 6th in this one & 5th in Sheriff. Keep an eye on him in this weekend's SPT Online.

    terrier922 has been running bad lately, but a dogged performance in winning last night's Mini repaired some of the damage &, hopefully, his confidence. He had a very big win back in 2017, so he has the game to get back on track if the cards fall kindly.

    Delighted to see gpc70 in 4th, he's a fun guy. 75% of his volume is in DYM's but he's partial to the occasional MTT. Mostly though he just loves a punt, especially on the gee-gees where's he a shrewd judge of the market.

    £2,000 Sheriff Bounty Hunter (£2,150)

    Goodness me, a third win in 10 nights for MrChanning - two Turbos & now a Sheriff. That's more ammo for Royal Ascot which is less than 3 weeks away, & we learned yesterday that up to 10,000 spectators per day will be allowed in. He loves Royal Ascot but usually faces a dilemma as it's smack in the middle of the annual WSOP in Vegas, but WSOP has been moved back a few months this year so he'll be fine. I've actually known him go to Vegas for the WSOP, fly back for Royal Ascot, then return to Vegas for the rest of the WSOP. Living the dream.

    As an aside, he threw a few darts at the PGA golf last week & thanks to a remarkable performance by Paul Casey, made a bit of profit. Incidentally, did anyone notice that there was an EIGHT way tie for 8th? God help the staff in the Contact Centres of the major bookmakers.

    £1,500 Reload Rebuy B/Hunter (£1,710)

    We are used to seeing roytheboy7 do well in Mega (4th last night) but he changed tack last night & took down Reload.

    Runner-up Ninja001 has plenty of recent winning form, including MidEx (three times), 7 @ 7 & avenger Mini.

    Theghost92 finalled this for the 2nd night on the bounce, 5th on Tuesday, 3rd last night.

    This was the only MTT Jac35 played last night, running 6th, and to keep him interested he had a 10 game DYM session alongside it. I always found it very hard to play MTT's & DYM's at the same time, as they require completely different mindsets.

    £1,500 Quickdraw (£1,500)

    Hard to keep heddoh out of these results threads, he seems to make a final or two most nights, last night's party trick was winning Quickdraw.

    In 4th was Groggy, who seems to have transitioned across to playing Turbo DYM's & HU stuff, not forgetting cash games of course.

    @heddoh18 190000 1 £390 + £158.19 Head Prizes 3

    £1,000 Midnight Express B/Hunter (£1,280)

    The Arrogant roadshow just keeps rolling. On Saturday he win both Reload & Quickdraw, on Sunday he took down the Major, on Monday & Tuesday he made finals galore, then hit another double last night, winning both Turbo & MidEx as well as 5th in the Main. A quite remarkable streak by any standards.

    Tim Tim Timmy, who won this the previous night/morning, was 4th.

    Meanwhile, Monday's Marksman main winner Fishdog77 finalled MidEx for the 2nd time in 3 nights. One to keep an eye on, Timeform have given him a P.

    Hon Mention

    For yet another double on the night. In truth, he deserves POTD, but winning it three times in less than a week is overkill.

    Best British Sportsperson

    So far;

    Darts - Phil Taylor

    Jockey - Lester Piggott

    Golf - Nick Faldo

    Today we move on to boxing, and I will need some help here as I'm not really up to speed.

    All I can list are those that most entertained me one way & another;

    Tyson Fury

    Chris Eubank

    Nigel Benn

    Lennox Lewis

    Henry Cooper

    Naseem Hamad

    My top two would be Benn & Eubank, with the verdict narrowly going to Eubank. I've never been a fan of boxing, but I never missed a Eubank fight, he was all attitude.

    Views welcome, as I'm out of my comfort zone with Boxing.

    Chris Eubank

    I’m a massive Chris Eubank fan, most of his fights were worth watching, especially the ones featuring Nigel Benn.
    However, the best has to be Joe Calzhagi.

    Am I right in saying that Chris lives in your part of the world, if so, have you ever bumped into him? (I may be getting confused with @Enut ).

    He lives in Brighton @Tikay10.

    I've never met him but I do have a little story about him. Back in his prime he used to drive about in a great big monster truck. He would often park up in the city centre and strut around. One day he was doing so and talking very loudly on his big brick of a mobile phone, being all important and impressive with his phone to his ear talking loudly about something very important until........it rang. Apparently it was quite amusing.

    Having said that I really like him, he's a great entertainer and had some truly awesome fights. I think his interview with Piers Morgan says a lot about the man.
