Who won what, Monday 31st May

Afternoon.

Numbers were surprisingly resilient last night, exactly as you'd expect that on a Bank Holiday, though the weather can make a huge difference.

Sport was a little dull yesterday, other than the remarkable Osaka story in tennis, which surely could have been handled better by the authorities. Test Cricket - which makes for wonderful TV - returns to home soil tomorrow with a Lords Test v New Zealand. Later this week we have The Oaks & Derby at Epson, & next week sees the start of the Euros. Royal Ascot is just a fortnight away. Num num num.

MAGPIETYKE finished May in splendid fashion. In the last week he's finished 1st, 3rd & 4th in 7 @ 7, 3rd in Turbo & 4th in Sheriff. Solid form, that.

    £1,000 Bounty Hunter (£1,000)

This went to Rstinson97, who won 7 @ 7 two weeks ago. He had an excellent 2020 including wins in Gold Rush Main & Mini Avenger, but has been quiet this year.

Old soldier anjie1970, who used to be a very big & successful player here 10 or more years ago, was 2nd.

NOSTRI was 7th, a terrific result for him, & easily his best result from the 43 MTT's he played last night.

    £6,000 Marksman Bounty Hunter (£6,990)

buddy18 took this. He has an unusual playing profile, usually playing just 1 MTT per night. So it's hard to judge his ability as in MTT's sample size is all. However, he won Sharpy Main in 2019, & the Sunday £6,000 BH earlier this year, and now Marksman Main. Three big wins despite playing such thin volume suggests he might well be extremely handy.

The amiable & likeable Climwinner was 2nd, with ItsOver4U, who had a good run until the wheels came off in SPT Online, was 4th.

MattBates was 5th. He'll be pleased to see the back of May, it was one of those months where little went right for him. He'll be just fine though, he knows the time of day & will always make money long term.

Judas (6th) was going well until he bust in 6th, he probably reckons he was betrayed.

    £1,500 Mini Marksman (£1,650)

The Kings of -LEON- helped propel him to a Mini win, he was 7th in Saturday's Mini so this was some recompense.

5th was biggirl, who recently returned after a bit of a break.

    £2,000 Sheriff Bounty Hunter (£2,100)

What a night for Monty15, winning both Sheriff & Quickdraw. In fact he won Friday's Quickdraw too, so that's 3 wins in 4 nights.

tonyp was 2nd, his best result in a while, though he does win a few nosebleed HU Hypers from time to time.

5th was glencoelad, who fell just shy of the money in SPT Online but bounced back by winning Sunday's Mini Major.

    £1,500 Reload Rebuy B/Hunter (£1,635)

b3nchy mostly single tables 1 MTT per night, usually Reload, was 6th in it about a week back & won it last night. Not played a great deal of volume here but almost certainly turns a profit.

2nd was THETANK, we shall return to him shortly.

    £1,500 Turbo Bounty Hunter (£1,800)

A real golden hour for THETANK - 2nd in Reload, 1st in Turbo & 2nd in Quickdraw. He was 5th in Sunday's Mini Major too. He finished almost on the money bubble in SPT Online but has made up for it big time since then.

2nd was StayOrGo who we never saw much of in May, while Sunday's Quickdraw winner f3nix35 was 5th.

    £1,000 Midnight Express B/Hunter (£1,000)

6587, who plays a bunch of £10 HU Speed stuff & won 4 in a row this morning, took MidEx. He ended Monday's session at nearly 3am this morning & was back on site by 7am. Keen as mustard.

Doughboys, 4th in Quicky, was 2nd here.

The daily "and finally" Music or Sporting themed postscripts will resume shortly, maybe tomorrow. I'm still recovering from a tiring weekend, I don't seem to have the zing & zest I used to.

For now, I upset a few readers with my views on Elvis Costello recently, so by way of apology, here he is absolutely murdering what is a great piece of music when sung by a proper artiste.
