Jurors at Hove Crown Court were shown footage of Arthur McGhie, 54, driving straight towards council worker Steven Smith before hitting him and sending him flying into a bush. It was claimed that pair had been involved in an argument and later a scuffle in the street after McGhie accused the traffic warden manager of being 'sneaky' and 'trying to trap people'. He was charged with attempted murder and assaulting an off-duty officer who tried to arrest him, having already pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of attempted grievous bodily harm.
