I have spotted a leak in my game that I can't seem to get past and this is across Sky, Stars and Party.
At the risk of sounding arrogant I often have little trouble building a reasonable stack say 250bb or so but then it all starts to unravel.
I find that at this point I either play too tight and get exploited or I decide that I'm giving away value and suddenly find that every shorter stack is smashing into me as I play too loose.
Now I used to think that the reason for my tightening up was to preserve chips and thus increase my chances of getting a good result and that my looser play was a result of the "you have chips so use them" school of thought by applying pressure.
So am I results orientated? Well yes but not in a fiscal sense. I already consider that money deposited is money lost and so I'm not playing scared, except I am and here's my problem.
I've found that whilst I don't care what anybody thinks of me regarding posts, opinions etc it absolutely bothers me that people might think I'm a total d*** on the poker table.
Seriously, I'd rather have respect as a player and be a losing player than a winning player who's regarded as a total w*****.
Obviously its possible to be a respected winning player, there are several on this site.
So my question is this. How do I get past this mind set and take that 250bb stack and start getting better results. All advice will be very welcome and I have lots of spare time now to put it into practice.
Sincerely
Mark

Don't limp.
Play more aggressive when you have under 50bb.
Be aware of table dynamic, regardless of if you're nursing 25bb or 250bb.
Why would you be bothered what people think? Thought you were thick skinned, on and off the tables.
Recognise when your ability isn't as high as you think it is. So many players have ideas above their station.
Maybe it's a Stoke thing.
Good luck.
You limp/call a lot
You limp/call out of position, a lot
You then catch pieces of boards and continue with check/calling
I’d look at that part of your game if i were you
1. Build a stack
2. Bluff
3. Have reads
4. Take notes
5. Take risks
6. Crush cans & most importantly....to
7. Enjoy your poker.....
Not saying you dont enjoy it btw.....
