Star Wars lands in the Derbys! Filming for Disney+ series begins at a quarry close to sleepy village of Matlock as crew erect green screens and close nearby roads
Filming for a Disney+ Star Wars series has begun at an abandoned quarry in Derbyshire (left). Crew members were seen preparing the set in the sleepy village of Matlock (top right and bottom right) on Thursday, as production for two of the streaming platform's shows continues simultaneously (Obi-Wan Kenobi actor Ewan McGregor is pictured left insert). As well as closing nearby roads, crew could be seen erecting a green screen on the set close to a toxic lagoon, which was recently dyed black to deter locals from swimming in the dangerous water.
