Who won what, Tuesday 13th July - DiggerMan strikes Gold

Morning.

Very solid MTT numbers last night again, with the Main & Summit both hitting their best numbers for over a month.

In Cricket, England completed their 3-0 whitewash of a very poor Pakistan side. Notably, the entire England squad had to be replaced 24 hours before the series started due to a COVID outbreak, & in the new squad, Stokes was made captain. He was brilliant as captain, being on the front foot throughout. I have long thought Root was past his sell-by-date as captain on the Test team, & now is the time to give the gig to Stokes.

In less than 24 hours The Open starts, 4 days of glorious sport played fairly - it's almost unknown for pro golfers to cheat. Take note football.

It's the British F1 Grand Prix this weekend too. Usually the most boring race on the calendar, but they added some gimmicks this year to try & rev it up a little, including Qualifying moved to 6pm Friday, & a Sprint Race on the Saturday. It'll need to be exceptionally good to tear me away from the golf.

    7 at 7 Bounty Hunter (£980)

    For the second time in just over a month, OldTimer99 took 7 @ 7. Due to the alias I visualise OldTimer as some elderly gent sitting in his armchair, but for all I know it's a nubile young lady. We don't really know, do we?

    In third was chalky666, who enjoyed a very good June, with wothef, a huge fan of Sky Poker coming home 6th.

    loosecamel is enjoying a splendid run of form, not that he ever runs bad. In the last six nights he's now won the £1k BH twice, Mega, & ran third in Hitman Main. He also took the £1,000 guaranteed fiver rebuy on Sunday.

    Two finals on the night for Monty15, 3rd in this & a session-saver later in the evening when 2nd in Turbo.

    £5,000 Gold Rush (£6,300)

    Great to see DiggerMan take the Main, he's been with Sky Poker almost since Day One, & we've had some fun times in Live Poker, mainly in South Wales. He was 6th in Sunday's Mini Major, single-tabling it all the way. Last night he played a £1.80 All-In Sat at 19.59, won it, & then one-tabled all the way to his Main Event win & over £1,200. He's old-school but tricky, & I imagine he's always been profitable in MTT's, as he's got plenty of moves in his arsenal.

    235467 has got seconditis, twice this month runner-up in Sheriff, & now second in a Main.

    avabob took the Mini for what I imagine is a personal best. The only previous mention I can find was 5th in Mini Avenger last last year.

    £5,000 Summit Bounty Hunter (£6,700)

    Something of a surprise Summit winner as stevelen15, having not played an MTT here for three weeks, beat a very tough Summit final table. Quite an unusual playing profile, plays a lot of £100 Heads Up Hypers, not something many players do.

    Team Big Boy were all lined up behind stevelen, with heddoh, Tedson, Hoff, roddy & Melty all present & correct. We don't see much of Melty these days, barely 100 MTT's this year, but he makes them count, having won Summit twice & BWBH, each of which was worth over £2,000.

    @stevelen15 335000 1 £1239.50 + £888.44 Head Prizes 8

    @heddoh18 0 2 £737 + £335.16 Head Prizes 5

    £1,500 Reload Rebuy B/Hunter (£1,695)

    johnnyy won Reload for the second time this year, though his best score was a Predator Main win last year.

    hhammerhea just missed out on a Reload four-timer, having won it three times this year already.

    Turbo went to 5Kind for the second time in five nights. Won a Summit in December so probably more than useful.

    BooBoo was 5th in Quickdraw for the second time in four nights.

    The Main went to a real old-school sort to show there's still life in the old dog yet.

    A fabulous live rendition of Life's Been Good by the incomparable Joe Walsh. I'm very much anti-drugs, but it seemed to work for Joe before he eventually got himself clean.

    Nice one Chris @DiggerMan , well done. I remember our SPT days in Cardiff/Swansea (both talk the same) with fond memories.

    Early song request @Tikay10 for Monday 19th July - Freedom by George Michael please.
    Then perhaps Wont Get Fooled Again by the Who on the Tuesday ;)

    Glad it's not just me that remembers those South Wales SPT's with such fondness. Digger is a diamond geezer, huge fun.

    And yes, that's a great song choice for Monday, aka "Freedom Day". Quite how long freedom will last is another matter, feels too soon to me.

    I agree that Stokes should be Captain

    It’s a fine line though isn’t it

    Not so long ago Stokes used to get himself into plenty of trouble. Seems to have settled down now

    It’s why i wouldn’t hang Robinson out to dry just yet. Let’s see if he can make amends.

    @Jac35

    I genuinely think he's matured with age, & it far more sensible now, though still got that aggressive streak in him which would serve him well as Captain. I'm really not impressed at all with Root's leadership qualities.

    You got any particular fancies for The Open? I just saw Ben Coley bigging up Brandon Grace & Daniel Berger, two who I would not ordinarily have given much thought to.
