Who won what, Wednesday 4th August - Mighty Monty enjoys a stunning session

Morning.

Some pretty thin numbers last night, with Turbo being the worst performer, and it was joined on the Naughty Step by MidEx & the £1k BH. By contrast, & curiously, Predator Main at £5,880 hit it's highest prize pool in 10 weeks. Go figure.

In sport, the first of five Test matches in six weeks between England & India got off to a predictable start, with England being bowled out cheaply. However, the weather may well come to England's rescue. Before the series began, India were freely available to win the Series at 6/4 or more, which might have been the best bet ever were it not for the weather, especially as the last two Tests are in September. Even for the first Test & despite India's superb start, the Draw is favourite at around 11/10. Having said all that, after a summer of Silly Cricket - primarily The Hundred nonsense - it's just terrific to be able to watch proper cricket again, with a red ball, players in whites, the game played at a sensible pace, & the TV screen not splattered with ridiculous graphics. When playing Hundred matches, they have music between balls too. Music at a cricket match? You gotta be kidding me.

Disgusted,
Tunbridge Wells

After some 2,200 games, rvi made their Results Thread debut by taking down 7 @ 7. Has had a few near misses, so this was probably about due. More of the same please, I do like to see super-short aliases, so much easier to type & remember.

A trio of season ticket holders made this Final, with Bleurgh scoring the win.

    THETANK & Mr Bates were 3rd & 4th.

yiddioyid, who won this two weeks ago, was 6th but never got paid a penny-piece.

    £5,000 Predator Bounty Hunter (£5,880)

MrDooWop has won Midex twice this year but was in new territory when winning the Main. Never tried any satellites, which he normally does, just paid in, polled up & single-tabled it every yard. Great stuff.

RCord was runner-up, & loosecamel continued his impressive heater in 4th.

A few weeks ago Natnug had a superb double, winning both Mini & MidEx on the same night. Not seen too much of him since, but he popped up in 6th here.

    £1,500 Mini Predator (£1,560)

Game had a lengthy but most productive & profitable day. Began by taking down a £100 BH that ran mid-morning, & ended over 12 hours later with their first ever Mini victory.

The class act was Crushy but the best he could manage was second, with _Smoothe_ sailing into fourth.

    £1,000 Mega Stack B/Hunter (£1,340)

August has begun well for MAGPIETYKE, who took a £1,000 BH on the 1st of the month & followed up last night in the Mega.

BooBoo was runner-up, & £1k BH winner Bleurgh completed the trio of podiumates. (Not a real word but should be).

Collecting a few bob in sixth place was Uncle Ungo, who is making FT's for fun at the moment.

Sheriff went to bigfatfish, more on whom later in the thread.

Monty15 was second, with Jscorgie third here after running 4th in Mega.

Last Thursday's Hitman Main winner IamAll_En was 5th.

    £1,500 Turbo Bounty Hunter (£1,500)

SwannLol is another enjoying a wonderful run. In the last week he's been 2nd in a Main, 1st, 2nd & 3rd in Sheriff, 3rd in Sunday's £6k BH & now 1st in Turbo. Not a flash-in-the-pan either, has a terrific CV including big wins in the last two UKOPS - Xmas UKOPS 01 (£2,400) & Easter UKOPS 32 (£2,020). I'm guessing he's not a player you want on your left. Or right. Or table.

    £1,000 Quickdraw (£1,160)

bigfatfish was another who dominated last night with a whole string of results including the difficult double of winning both Sheriff & Quickdraw. He was also 6th in MidEx and made no less than three other non-feature Finals. Outstanding.

I saw mention of Chas & Dave yesterday, so let's have one of their best. Chas has left us I'm afraid, but Dave remains alive & well.

i actually saw a sign some years ago outside a pub in Southampton advertising Chas and Dave playing here tonight with, in small writing and brackets (not the real Chas)!

    Ha, very good.

I just had a quick google, & there seems to be dozens of Chas & Dave Tribute Bands. Amazing the way some people make a living, pretending to be someone else. Good luck to them.
