Who won what, Sunday 8th August. Crushy & Craig fight out the Major

Tikay10Tikay10 Member, Administrator, Moderator Posts: 171,844

Morning.

A fairly decent Sunday for MTT traffic. 7 @ 7 hit it's best number for 5 weeks, & both Major & Mini were at the top of their recent running average. Only MidEx disappointed really, covering by just one entry. Definitely a reasonable set of numbers for early August.

We were denied the chance to watch the great Virat Kohli in action in final day of the first Test, as rain ruined the day, and even racing at Haydock was abandoned, a rare event indeed in August. The Olympics drew to a close, & like every other Olympics in my lifetime, I ended up regretting I'd not watched more. I did stay up on Saturday night to see the Men's Marathon, which is strangely compelling to watch & saw a very odd thing. Not sure of the what & why, but I suspect our friend was trying to create mobile trip hazards for the following runners. Not cool.

£700 7 @ 7 £1,127

£6,000 BH £6,570

£12,000 Sunday Major £14,400

£1,500 Mini £1,900

£1,000 Mega £1,400

£1,500 Sheriff £2,100

£1,500 Reload £1,740

£1,500 Turbo £1,620

£1,000 Quicky £1,660

£1,000 MidEx £1,020

A third win in 5 nights for bigfatfish, Sheriff & Turbo on Wednesday & 7 @ 7 last night. Good timing too, as it was the biggest 7 @ 7 prize pool in over a month. I was a little surprised to see he has played over 111,000 games on Sky Poker. Not a record, but surely top 5%. Over 90% of them were DYM's, & on the face of it all his profit comes from the MTT's but it does not quite work like that as high volume DYM-ers earn much of their profit from Rewards payments. Whatever way you look at it, impressive numbers.

This fell to Jessieak, perhaps better known for winning Quickdraw with great regularity. A few weeks ago he took both Avenger Main & sheriff on the same night for a stunning double.

    £12,000 Sunday Major (£14,400)

Crushy took the Major. What a CV this fella has. Even if we only go back three months, he's won a Major, a Mini Major, 3 Minis, 4 Megas, 5 Quickdraws, 3 Sheriffs & a Gold Rush Main. And that was just the last three months. If we take Sharky numbers as gospel, he was the most profitable MTT-er on Sky Poker in 2017, 2019 & 2020, & 2nd most profitable in 2018. This year he currently sits second, but that's slightly misleading as the leader - hughjarse9 - won most of his money in just two big events - the January SPT Online for some £20,000 & a big UKOPS for £10,000. Even so, our man is less than £1,000 behind in the 2021 profit table, & I expect him to wipe out that deficit before September arrives. An extraordinary record by any standards, & I doff my hat to him.

    EDIT;

I must have looked Crushy up on Sharky before they were showing his Major win last night, so he's now clear top, & by some way. Quite right too.

2nd was craig, & it's always good to see him do well. He tends to dart about, from cash to MTT's & back, & flirts with various other sites, & I gather he's been doing OK on I-poker recently too. He did have some big results in High Rollers here a while back, then went off the boil a little, but this will boost his confidence no end. And it's certainly no disgrace to finish 2nd to Lord Crush.

newdaddy (third) has a Sharky rating of 95 & terrific record in the Sunday Major, but has yet to win it. He's now been 2nd three times, 3rd four times, and 5th three times despite only 1,400 games here lifetime. Extraordinary consistency. The win will come eventually, & probably like buses, several will come along. He certainly must be due it.

In the money spots were plenty of familiar names including Dog Bloke, Dembele, chrisdonkb, MAXALLY & Sunday8pm.

    £1,500 Mini Major (£1,900)

Natnug & shrimpy slugged this out heads up & it could have fallen either way, but it was Nathan who ended up with the top spot. He's had a decent year with wins in the £1k BH, Turbo, Reload, Mega, a standard Mini & now a Mini Major.

Shrimpy has his volume limited by his job - he's a sort of Chef who has to frequently work evenings - & I'm convinced if he had more time to play he'd do very well indeed. Even so, he's had two really big results this year, winning an avenger Main & 5th in a UKOPS Main, those two scores alone worth around a combined £5,000. Like many of us, his waist expanded - some might say exploded - somewhat during Lockdown but he's on a diet now & has dropped a most impressive half a stone in a fortnight.

WAREZ ran 3rd, with luckme 4th.

When @NOSTRI ran 2nd in MML a week ago he donated his seat to lfccarl, an extraordinary act of generosity. And lfccarl never wasted it, finishing 5th for £114. Not bad for a free gift, & if karma has any say in it @NOSTRI will win something soon, as unlikely as that may seem.

Our Sunday Major winner is certainly laying claim to be the best MTT-er on the site, over the last 5 years nobody has won more than him.

Coming up to 50 years old now, but Bowie's Space Oddity remains as fresh as the day it was released. He was decades ahead of the curve in so many ways.

I was all over the place for a whilst but I would say now I am becoming a committed MTT player for sure. I poker helped big style really, small field MTTs mean I have way less losing days and can study no problem.
I was extremely proud of my poker game last night for sure, every move had be thought out

    Well done the rest.
