Pictured: Plymouth 'black-clad gunman who killed five including a five-year-old girl before shooting himself dead with long-barreled gun in rampage that mostly targeted strangers in a house and at park'
The gunman who blasted five people to death in Plymouth before turning his gun on himself was tonight named by locals as Jake Davison (centre). Several witnesses reported that scaffolder Davison, who was in his 20s, had carried out the attack which left a girl of five among those killed. He is said to have shot members of his own family before taking to the streets and opening fire on strangers. His rampage left the girl, two women, and two men dead with the majority of his victims not believed to be known to him. Two dog walkers were among those shot. Witnesses have described seeing the gunman dressed in black and grey and kicking down the door of a semi-detached house and opening fire at around 6pm in the Keyham area of the city just after 6pm yesterday. He was carrying a long-barreled gun and was seen fleeing to the rear of the property and into a park where he allegedly ran into the two dog walkers and opened fire. The area of the naval port city where the killings took place was put in lockdown as emergency response teams raced to the scene. Local MPs urged residents to 'remain calm' and stay indoors as they awaited more information, adding that it was a 'grim day for our city and our community'. The incident – the first in Britain involving an 'active shooter' for 11 years – was so serious that Home Secretary Priti Patel was given regular updates. Security sources said it was not being treated as a terror incident.
Kinda thing you expect to see (and do see all too regularly) over in America, not in Plymouth.
By all accounts he's gone down the Qanon rabbithole, and was seemingly a fan of Trump, Tommy Robinson, UKIP and other vile people and organisations.
I'm sure it will all come out in the wash, but questions remain over why someone so mentally unstable (I've read his family and neighbours had tried to have him sectioned more than once) was allowed to legally own a shotgun.
Gonna be a long and public healing process for the local community.
As soon as he was posting his mumbo jumbo on faceache, which was over a month ago, his licence should have been revoked It's obvious he was mentally unstable, and it was known, the plod should have stepped in Absolutely tragic
His Twitter followed Tommy Robinson, UKIP, Fox News, Incel TV. His Facebook was full of Trump and Qanon bo11ocks. He seemingly had a love of guns and firearms, and a hatred for women.
Sound familiar?
You can have far right views without being a member of a far right organisation, ditto for terrorist views/organisation.
The more pertinent question in all this is how he came to have and retain a gun licence, which looks like it might be investigated.

Funny you didn't mention Incel in your 1st post. Doesn't fit your narrative huh? The Chief Constable stated in his press conference that there are no links to a far right organisation or terrorism.

What part of 'you can have far right views without being part of a far right organisation' don't you understand?
Just like someone can support Aston Villa/Bournemouth without attending games.
You have far right views, but I assume you're not a member of a far right organisation (though who knows?)
The nutjob was 'seemingly' an incel who held 'seemingly' far right views and opinions. You can try and deflect from that all you want but it doesn't make it any less true.
Is there an argument that Incelism (is that even a word?) is actually a type of terrorist organisation?
They have the ideology, they have their desired targets (a hatred of women but also other young men who would appear to have everything an Incel wants)
I watched a doc recently on an Incel killer in America from a few years ago, Elliot Rodger.

Just this evening I've watched/listened to a near 3 hour police interview with the guy who committed the crimes in Canada. Quite an insight into the mindset of these nutjobs.
Why are you so eager to deflect away from his far right views? He was an 'Incel' with far right views and opinions, like it or not. Maybe it cuts a little too close to the bone for your liking.
Imagine allowing a gun enthusiast who praised Trump easy access to firearms. Recipe for disaster and tragedy right there.
There is simply no justification for a 22 year old man, living in an urban environment, to own a shotgun. There is barely any justification applicable for almost all the population to be legally allowed to own a shotgun.
Pressure will likely mount on the authorities to tighten the gun control laws even further. More to come out in the wash.....

There was this case from a few years ago too.

Whilst sometimes the killings involved appear indiscriminate, in the case of Elliot Rodger there was some degree of targeted victims.
As with many things in life, not everything is black and white, there can be many shades of grey.
This was the podcast.
